I'm trying to understand what it says about the state of American music and culture that, in every Super Bowl half time show since the wardrobe malfunction, a song less than 30 years old hasn't been sung.
I have plenty of fond memories of the Stones, Bruce, and to a far lesser extent, the Who. But what will the NFL do when all these guys are dead?

Yes, but only because 60 somethings trying to bring 20 somethings energy to a stage is pathetic! I thought the stage was really cool though. I would have rather seen them join a younger band doing their songs.
One thing I've noticed as a music lover and a musician, is seeing all these older bands trying to do their popular stuff the way they did it back in the day. It's just ridiculous. That time is over! Move on and create NEW stuff appropriate to your age and the times.
He must have been listening with Peter Townsends ears....
