Good point! Let the people see what it was like to have greatness leading our nation, and compare that to the garbage the currently oocupies 1600 Penn. Ave.

Fabulous! It's very well done.

Please also see this article about the speech his son Michael gave last night.

As I was watching his speech for a few moments I just felt overwhelmed by the loss of this man. I was just a kid/young-man (just entering college) when he was President, and my political views weren’t fully formed. I was surrounded by libtards back then, but I knew after watching Reagan that this was a man worthy of respect, and that his political beliefs were worth a deeper look.

He was so consistent in his words and deeds. He brought a confidence to the world, because you knew that the adults were in charge. I think back on that now and I believe this is because he was a man of exemplary character who truly believed in his policies, and who was unfailing in his devotion to his country.

I look at where we are at now, and I wonder why we can’t have a leader like this again. Are they all gone? Are we doomed to slide into mediocrity at the hands of bumbling fools and silver-tongued dictators? I look at the political landscape these days and I can’t identify one person who is even close to a Reagan or Thatcher caliber leader.

I think maybe we are going about this the wrong way. Many of us put our support behind a political party. These parties are run by the same sort of buffoons that have put us where we are today, and I think to a large part these buffoons are the ones selecting the party nominees.

Maybe instead we need to identify a person who has the right character and leadership qualities, and then convince that person to run for President (because I think these sorts of people don’t naturally gravitate torwards politics). Then throw all our support behind them, and to heck with the Repubican Party and whatever Bush or McCain or other giant douche they have nominated.

I have to admit, that was hard to watch without tearing up a couple of times.

Me, too, and I was really missing him. I feel very badly, because I was once a mush-head almost-liberal, maybe more liberal, but I was one of those who put down Reagan and said he was stupid (only because my so-called friends at the time did the same), and watching that just amplified for me just how intelligent, how straightforward he was, and how he really was the "great communicator."

It’s funny Scutter, the Press HATED Reagan in the beginning but when he left office they respected him and I dare say many loved him too.

Obama on the other hand was loved, praised, worshiped. I think in fours years he’ll be hated, loathed, disrespected by Liberal & Conservatives alike...because unlike Reagan he has no principles.

“As I was watching his speech for a few moments I just felt overwhelmed by the loss of this man”

Me too, one of my proudest moments while serving in the USAF was looking him square in the eye and rendering a salute, his motorcade was just coming off the tarmac at Hill AFB (1982 midterms methinks)and he waved back at a half dozen or so airmen lucky enough to pick the right spot where his limo had to do a turn, from no more than 10’ away.

He was the epitome of class!

Thanks Onyx - Ronnie must be looking down and he has to be proud of son Michael - always admired Michael & Maureen, can’t say the same for the other two lost souls.

Nice to see the Berlin exhibit doing so well too!

I agree. Michael and Maureen.
The other two, huge disappointments and the boy is a full-out embarrassment and tool of the Left.

I’m having a mental block - at least the daughter (what’s her name?) has disappeared from the limelight, Ron Jr is just one pathetic fool, & an attention whore.
