My limited perspective is based on evidence.
I realize that this is what a lot of people depend upon... but Christians depend on something in additon to that, which supplements the evidence, and provides a reason and rationale for that evidence -- and that's the "revealed, inerrant and infallible Word of God"...
When you've got something like that, from the Creator of the Universe... it's hard to dismiss it, unless one simply does not want to take the Word of God into consideration at all... :-)
Well, AFAIK this is not a religious book.
IMHO it is a lack of respect to talk about revealed truth when someone, in order to write such a book, had to carry out an investigation for evidence.
Bringing Satan into the equation does help to dispel that argument though. However, it does bring into doubt whether any effort on our part will have any chance to defeat the plan as it stands today. As you say, God is a tough adversary. So do we go with the flow and wait through the Tribulation for the Second Coming?
