Where is Chet99 and his cheerleaders to demand the “final solution” for all Bull Mastiffs (and the hundreds/thousands of other large, powerful breeds)?

If a Pitbull can kill you, a Bull Mastiff can bite your head clean off. Better get that legislation started.

Dogs rarely “just snap.” There is usually a long history of abuse leading up to the attack. Dogs are rarely psychotic, and most want nothing more than to be friends.

Four years ago, the three bullmastiffs attacked and seriously injured a passer-by outside their owner's house. They spent years in custody pending legal hearings, but when one of them attacked a dog handler, authorities ordered them to be put down.

I don't know what a Bull Mastiffs temperament is supposed to be but these three weren't nice doggies.

Dogs are rarely psychotic

With cats, though, it seems to be common. I've had a couple of cats that were borderline crazy, but my wife had a cat that was as psycho as it gets. This thing was the most ill tempered critter I've ever been around (and I grew up on a farm with a lot of ornery critters). It would growl at you if you just walked by it. It's eyes would dilate and contract rapidly when it got riled. It was possessed. She had to have it's teeth filed and claws removed so that it wouldn't hurt anyone. This was by far the fastest house cat I've ever seen, too. It like to attack your knees for no apparent reason and would do strafing runs on you when it was riled. It was also common for it to come blasting by and take food right out of your hand. Two different vets recommended that it be put down. Both agreed that it just wasn't wired right.

I had one of those psychotic dogs. Got her when she was around 4mo. old. 3 vets and 4 behaviorists all agreed she had wires crossed. She was eventually put down because she thought biting people was the appropriate greeting. No amount of training was able to change that. It is rare, but it does happen.
