Unless he was handicapped he is another candidate for the Darwin award. The time spent finding his phone, calling 911, and speaking with the operator would have been better spent getting out of the truck.

I heard the 911 call on the news and the guy sounded cool, calm and collected.
The operator told him to sit tight and not hang up, but that's all as far I know.
I would have at least suggested trying to open the doors or windows.

See my post 5. You would be amazed at how strong car doors and windows are. It’s very hard even to kick out a car window. Been there, tried to do that, it didn’t work.
