CONSULAR AFFAIRS BULLETINS
Europe - Turkey
31 Jan 2010

SNIPPET: “U.S. Consulate Adana released the following Warden Message on January 31:

This Warden Message alerts U.S. citizens that there was gunfire near the U.S. Consulate in Adana on the evening of January 30 at approximately 2215. Initial reports indicate that four or five bullets struck the consulate building and police facilities located there. There were no injuries. Turkish National Police are investigating, and the consulate and embassy are cooperating closely with them. The consulate will be open for regular business on February 1.

We remind American citizens to exercise caution and be alert to large demonstrations or suspicious activity. American citizens should stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times.”

After further investigation it appears that this was an attack on the U.S. Consulate.
Huge surprise. Thanks Cindy.
