About that last Farve interception
Nuke's News ^ | 2/2/10 | Nuke

A possible explanation for Brett Farve's inexplicable, 4th quarter interception in the NFC Championship Game, which aborted a game winning Vikings drive ... from Rick Cleveland's blog ...

For all those who have criticized Favre for throwing instead of running on that last play against the Saints, check out Brett's left ankle and his right hamstring.

Dang, son. That's UGLY.

Typical Viqueens fan....Never in touch with reality...

Maybe we could buy them some commemorative items celebrating their FAIL...

...or maybe suggest they get away......while Brett decides whether he'll play or not...

LOL. What a great post to wake up to.

Some real classic stuff here.

Better luck next team.

The fumbled figurine.

SW Airlines would get a kick out of Favre eating Dome turf.

Classic stuff.

He doesn’t deserve to be put in the ranks of coolheaded QBs like Montana

Farve is a great and entertaining QB. He threw a stupid/bad pass. It happens.

Yep, noting clearly and demonstrable predetermined results is whining.

Hey, if accepting cheating and looking the other way gets you through the night, who am I to criticize?

Lie to yourself all you want — it is you lying to you and none of my concern.

First off ... not a fan.
Second ... I watched the same game you did
Third ... Saints 21 Vikings 28

Get over it.

Well crap ... I hate it when I'm trying to be clever and I make a mistake that makes me look like the idiot I usually am.

The saints had 9 penalties for 88 yards.

The vikes had 5 for 32 yards.

Stop the madness.

I’m revelling in the fact that Viquuens fans are so consistently destroyed by the FAIL that is their football team that they can’t let go of their excuses.
The bottom line is they choked...as usual.

But the worst thing of all is the stupid NFL overtime rules. There is no way a game should end after only one team had a possession. Each team should have the same number of possessions until one team wins. Period.

Everyone complains about this, but the difference between winning and losing the coin toss is barely statistically significant (roughly 53% of the time, the coin toss winner wins overtime, historically).

Remember, if you receive in OT, and fail to get a first down, you're giving the ball to the opposition with generally excellent field position, when all they need is a field goal.

Would you rather they go with the college system, which STARTS the teams in field goal range?

Excuse. Dwight Freeny played with a torn ankle ligament. Other QBs have played with broken bones.

The Saints game plan was perfect- put Favre on his back as much as possible.

Posting these pictures only adds to the drama queen, prima donna labels. Its like he’s using them as his excuse for losing, and likely ending his career with another INT, just like he did in GB and NY.

where were these taken? it looks like the bottom one is a kitchen.

just odd. and why not show Brett’s face in the picture.

I’m not saying he didn’t get beat up in the game, but this is just weird and more excuse-making by the master of “it’s all about me, but it’s not my fault.”

Would have been correct on your first post had the ref not mistaken a pylon falling over for actually getting the ball across the plane.

Favre's agent emailed them to Rick Cleveland, sports editor of the Jxn Clarion Ledger Link

"So, I was talking to Bus Cook, sports agent of the stars, today about one of his clients, Antonio Johnson, the starting defensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts. And I asked Bus about the health of his most famous client Brett Favre. "Beat up," Bus answered. "You should see the photos of his ankle and his hamstring the day after the game."

If this is just good old-fashioned Schadenfreude, have at it. I just ask that the reality of what happened be recognized.

I am not a big Vikes fan, I just like Favre because he is carrying the mantle for us old dudes... ;)

>>put Favre on his back as much as possible<<

And getting the refs to help was the perfect strategy to make that plan work.

I hate Favre. Too many memories of him as a Packer.

But he got him Team one game away from a Superbowl in his first year as QB with the Vikes. That takes a certain amount of talent no matter what personal opinions there may be.

The refs blew a couple of big calls. On both sides. The ones they blew for the Vikes could have easily handed the Vikes a win.

We'll never know now. It's all academic.

RE: I just ask that the reality of what happened be recognized.

The reality is that Brent Farve was intercepted twice and the Queens fumbled a gazillion times. If it weren't for the Saints amassing almost 100 yards in penalties the Viqueens would not (should not) have even been in the game. The Viqueens lost because they played like crap not because of the officials.
