Meet Sarah Palin’s Preferred Candidate, the Nutty Rand Paul ... (Debbie Schlussel Alert)
Debbie Schlussel ^ | 2/02/2010 | Debbie Schlussel

Posted on 02/02/2010 8:35:43 AM PST by goldstategop

In my view, his presence on these shows alone should disqualify him, but Sarah Palin thinks he’s just wonderful because Sarah Palin doesn’t think. She’s a dummy, and it’s time her blind worshipers woke up to that, but they refuse to awaken from their slumber. Does it not bother her that, as the Sultan points out, Rand Paul compared the U.S. military to Hitler? Hellooooo . . . ?

Either Sarah Palin supports Rand Paul’s nutty views against torturing terrorists and siding with Iran against America or she’s just ignorant and uninformed beyond belief. I vote for both, which is why she is utterly unqualified to be anything in the conservative movement, including a spokesperson and admired figure, much less Presidential timber.

The Sultan points out that not only does Rand Paul side with Iran against America and beseech us to “understand their [Iran's] perspective,” but he calls for us to close Gitmo, and release the terrorists “drop them back off into battle . . . drop ‘em back off into Afghanistan” so they can perpetrate more terrorist attacks against our troops. Remember that the next time you hear the clueless Sarah Palin spout off something her handlers told her to say about how closing Guantanamo Bay is bad. She doesn’t mean what she says. And she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

Read Sultan Knish’s entire piece . . . and wake the heck up on a complete idiot who now has dangerous power. Her name is Sarah Palin. And she’s a fraud.

What dangerous power does she now have....?

The power to make Debbie Schlussel feel old, ugly, and all alone.

There will plenty of pro-Palin vs. anti-Palin (and some that haven’t decided yet) debates between now and 2012. But I would venture to say that all said come 2012 if the choice is between Obama vs. Palin, the FR vote will go 99.99999999 % Palin.

Is that why Barack 0bama was voted in as president after getting paid for 2 years for doing no work, while he campaigned, and after quitting before he completed his 6 year term?

The county I live in has 5 times the number of people than the entire state of Alaska.

I’m not saying being Governor there is inconsequential, I’m suggesting you are gilding the lily.

After taking a look at Debbie’s webpage on this, her treatment of Sarah Palin is way over the top and outright rude. It is nothing more than name-calling in a viscous way and I lose all respect for her. I still do not trust Rand Paul at all but Debbie’s treatment of Sarah is beyond the pale and lacks all substance. Pitiful.

TOTALLY agree. she discredits herself with this type of commentary and just makes herself look pathetic, green with envy and hateful.

This tendency of Palin supporters to compare her to Obama as a means of making her appear Presidential has always fascinated me.

What you are really saying is that if America can elect one fool with no resume, they can do it again with Palin.

Is that really the message you want to send? Is it all you got?

Jeez, I'm I the only one who finds this logic asinine?

I think you are the idiot for posting anything associated with the paranoid, failed politician, and barren Debbie.

I grew up reading the works of conservatives like Russell Kirk, Whittaker Chambers, and Friedrich Hayek. You'll never convince me that the likes of Hannity, Coulter, and Beck can compare.

I agree. Hannity, Coulter, and Beck do have their roles to play. And I believe Coulter really is smart enough to carry her weight with thinkers you listed. But it seems she would rather play the role of provocateur. It pays a whole lot better. I am always suspicious of the anti-intellectual crowd. As my Dad always said, "Use your head for something besides a hat rack." It is not a sin to think. In fact, I believe it is a requirement to at least make the effort.

Of course it is asinine, but they use it because there are strong similarities between the two. Both have scant experience, are not white males, and both have celebrity status. It is the latter which is the driving force.

The cult of the celebrity has evangelized our nation unfortunately and is the substitute for Presidential statesmanship. Palin represents the conservative “celebrity.” Abstract thinking or any thinking for that matter is substituted for emotion and connection and fame. Education, intellect, accomplishments and knowledge can casually be disregarded.

"What you are really saying is that if America can elect one fool with no resume, they can do it again with Palin.

Fool??? Sounds pretty personal. Did Sarah personally do something to you? Be stoic about your critiques. Name me your best president over the past 6 to 5 election cycles. Name me your best candidates......any flaws? All of them were "qualified" to be president? Could they garner enough votes in the nominating process? Electoral process? Fool? Was George W. a fool? Bill Clinton? George H. W.? How about Gerald Ford or Jimmy Carter?

No, Sarah is no fool. If she can beat Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Jeb Bush, Tim Pawlenty, Jim DeMint, Newt Gingrich, Duncan Hunter, Mike Pence, Scott Brown et al for the nomination (policy vs. policy, personality vs. personality, supporters vs. supporters, strategy vs. strategy, money raised vs. money raised), she is no fool, just the nominee. If she can beat Barack Obama in the general by those same standards she is no fool----just the president elect.

IMO people’s visceral hatred of anything intellectual has more to do with their own feelings of inadequacy, low self esteem and lack of educational accomplishment than anything remotely resembling politics.

Why anyone would want a president who is “just like them” also befuddles me. Persoanlly, I want a president who is a whole lot more experienced, smarter and saavyer than me...and expecially more so than “them”.

Thanks for proving my point. That wasn’t a rip on Palin it was a rip on some of her supporters and their, IMO, less than well thought out comments to justify her “presidential” appeal and qualifications.

Now here comes the rip on both. I find Palin and some of her supporters to have something in common...intellect that is a mile wide and an inch deep.

How many states have you governed?

<><><><><>

LOL. If we freepers had to have equivalent experience prior to expressing our opinions on this board, this place would be a ghost town.

I don’t think she’s ready for the job any more than I think the dozen or so big city mayors are, who govern larger populations than Sarah did in Alaska.

Down the road, who knows?

Fine. Now answer the rest of my post smart guy. Who have you supported win, lose or draw over the past 5 or 6 election cycles? Were they all “qualified”??? Did they endorse and support every last candidate that you would’ve liked endorsed? Did they support every position you supported??? Man I want names, dates, primary results, general election electoral counts, resumes, college transcripts, I’ll give you the rest of the day to come up with the info—otherwise state who you’re for now so I can give them the what for.
