Yup - I'm a Dell tech, among other certs I have. Retry the old memory. It may have broken a contact just from sitting around, or it may also have built up a little corrosion on one of the DIMM contacts itself. The silver ones are notorious for that.

I’ll try ya’all suggestions! I am just getting off work from a 14 hour day. I don’t have a working PC at home. I’ll check back with you soon (like Sunday or maybe next week.)

Thanks to all.

It’s an old Dimension 2600....I don’t even know why I bothered setting the thing back up...I think I felt sorry for it or something.

The DIMM contact being screwed up might have been the problem. That’s a good call. No matter...I’m using the old DDR in another system anyway.

I tried a few things once I got home. First, I disconnected most everything from the motherboard as Viking2002 recommended, and then pulled out all but one of the ram sticks. Rebooted it. Fans came on, no beep, but it did not turn off again.

I then went to bed. I will mess with this later.
