Hi all - I posted a few weeks ago about obtaining a Carry/Conceal Handgun - thanks for the helpful info. I have not purchased yet, but I'm in the 9mm or .360 Kahr camp right now. I like the fact that I can carry the .380 (P380) in my pocket, and even the 9mm (PM9) might be to large to carry (side holster). I do not want to leave it at home.
Next question I have is ammo - I'm concerned about getting ammo for either the 9mm of the .360...I'm hearing that it's really scarce and expensive right now. Does anyone have any solutions or info to offer? Where are you getting ammo from?
Thanks,
Scott
My project manager has one. Bought it for his wife, but he likes it better than she does. Says it's no fun to shoot though.
I think I'd go with the nine though, around here, you might just PO the perp rather than stopping him.
Like fabric for people who sew, one can never have all the ammo one wants. All you can afford, yes, but not all you want. Gotta save some money for new guns. Can't have all of those you want either. Pity that.
After considerable and exhaustive research I have chosen the GLOCK 19 in 9mm as my conceal carry weapon.
I pick mune up wednesday.
I would strongly suggest you look at this weapon for your needs.
Lots of info on the web.
KeTec P-11? Weighs 14 oz empty, 20 oz with loaded magazine. Compare to their P-3AT (.380) at 8.3 and 13.1 respectively). However in size its not that much bigger.
LWH 142, 109, 26mm for the P-11 and 132 89 and 20 mm for the P-3AT. at 25.4mm/inch that's about 0.8 inch longer and taller, but only about 1/4 inch wider.
I will let you know. I just took my 357 in for springs and a fluff and buff. Should have it this week.
That might be the problem there, though, I understand why you're using it. Now that you mentioned WWB, I do remember that happening when I used WWB, too. It may make you cringe when I offer this solution, but, run a box or two or Cor-Bon self defense ammo through it. You may see that the problem "disappears" when using a better ammo.
I remember my Bersa not liking WWB all that much, particularly when it got to the last round in the magazine - I think it has something to do with the way the WWB .380 flattened nose hits the feed ramp to chamber. I think the stock spring in the mag is a little too weak when almost fully extended and it doesn't allow the round to hit the feed ramp at the proper angle.
Thanks. I don't mind footing the bill to test it. Just have to find it.
