Although not a movie, I did like “Have Gun, Will Travel”.

A few years back I read that it isn’t aired on TV/cable as it’s
regarded as “too violent” (probably as in the bad guys get what’s coming).

Our family watched that show religiously when I was a kid. Encore Western Channel has been showing “Have Gun - Will Travel” episodes from 1957-58 since the first of the year. Every show is a hoot, as we learn that Paladin is a West Point graduate (ergo a former Army officer, speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, knows judo, freely quotes Shakespeare (among other authors), has traveled the world and can survive in the jungle, desert, and mountains, his concierge at the Hotel Carlton is a Chinese named Hey Boy, and that despite his somewhat rough looks, Paladin is urbane, witty, and quite the lady’s man.

The show doesn’t seem to be any more violent than anything else from back then, although this morning Paladin got kneecapped.

Richard Boone always played a great villain. Hombre with Paul Newman, Big Jake with the Duke, The Tall T with Randolph Scott - Boone was a great actor.

Now for the ultimate HG-WT trivia question: What is Paladin’s first name?
