I’m not a huge western fan, but the online classic radio station I listen to plays Gunsmoke, Gene Autry & Dale Evans, Fort Laramie (with Raymond Burr), the Cisco Kid, Red Ryder, and other westerns. Some are better than others, but you get a chance to hear these shows on a regular basis if that’s your thing.

I like the old time radio shows as well. Gunsmoke had some great radio episodes.

Tarzan was another surprise for me. Much different than the 1940’s Hollywood plots where the bad guys were Nazis, sadistic poachers, Jewel thieves, and the like. The radio shows has hideous creatures and monsters that Tarzan had to battle.

I was born too late (1958) to catch most of these show, but thankfully there is a resurgence of interest in them. They are bringing these back on CD and tape, and radio and satellite stations that devote time to play them.
