Important Message to our Fans
It was always our pleasure, our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you - whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs.
While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was and how much fun we were still having, in the process. But there was also something else: We want to end the Scorpions extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music weve always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.
We want you, our fans, to be the first to know about this. Thank you for your never-ending support throughout the years!
We uploaded the very first snippets from our new album for you.
And now lets get the party started and get ready for a Sting in the Tail!
See you on the world tour,
Yours
Scorpions
I feel a billion-dollar reunion tour coming in about 3 years.
Never heard of them — any good?
The Scorpions? Yikes. I am not familiar with them, and believe me, that’s odd. Have they had any semi-popular songs that played on radio that I would say, “Oh yeah, I’ve heard that before.”?

They have a song called “Winds of Change” you’d recognize right away.
Their blurb sounds more of a marketing tactic than a true end-of-it-all message.
I lost interest in these guys YEARS ago.
When Uli Jon Roth left the band, they were finished as far as I’m concerned. They were a heavier band w/ a semi-stoner style when Roth was their lead guitarist. They played longer songs @ the time, too. He was replaced by Matthias Jabs, who is pretty good...but for some reason, their music switched to a more pop/made-for-radio/Top 40 style, I guess in order to draw more female fans & go after the big $$$. Yeah, it worked quite well for them, but I thought it sucked! They cut the length of their songs to w/in radio airplay length of 4 minutes or so, & wussed out completely, IMO.
Does anyone remember the ORIGINAL cover to their “Virgin Killer” album? The one w/ a little girl kneeling behind a broken pane of glass? I bought it @ an ol’ record store decades ago, but I heard that it was illegal in some places...is that true???
They had a few pretty forgettable '80s hair band hits, but their masterpiece is "Wind of Change," their anthem on the fall of the Berlin Wall (they're German). I'm not a big fan of the band or the genre, but it's a moving song. Video here.
Not after 1979 & their "Lovedrive" album.
It thought their career ended in 1986.
speaking of that, Wind Of Change would be a good theme for a GOP candidate in 2012

LOL...they play stadiums everywhere to this day over in Europe, South America, and Asia. In the U.S. I think they play to 8 to 10,000 seat venues...not bad for a band that has not had a hit since what? 1991?
$h!^ sells.
"Taken By Force" (this is NOT the original cover)
"Lovedrive" (this cover was considered to be offensive to some people)
"Virgin Killer" (Check out the cover!)

They did a really good job on The Who’s Can’t Explain. They really made it fresh.

Here are a few so enjoy. I got to see them live several times and their twin guitar work is awesome.
Thank you, all!
I think this copy has the original cover, too. Why they changed it to an image of a hand picking up a scorpion, I don't know. I have this on both CD & LP, & the LP is actually a CLEAR one -- you can see right through it! BTW....My Favorite Headache, I'm a big RUSH fan. too! :-)
Like I said, the albums on the list that I gave you are from their earlier, heavier days...long before they became famous & toned down their style.
OMG!!!!! So you’re a Captain Beyond fan too, huh? They are one of my ALL TIME favorites!
