Sarah Palin is losing my support... (Not for the reason you might think)

Posted on 01/22/2010 10:39:43 PM PST by se_ohio_young_conservative

I wouldn't mind Sarah Palin supporting John McCain if....

John McCain had came out in defense of her against Steve Schmidt and others. But John McCain is a coward. It has less to do with policy and more about Palin's lack od self respect.

These people tried to destroy you Sarah. Sometimes the high road is for losers. Sometimes you have to get downright nasty and take a stand. We need someone that is not afraid to kick some butt.

This talk about loyalty disturbs me. George W. Bush was way too loyal and tried taking the high road. Remember all of the talk about a "new tone" in Washington ? Instead. President Bush allowed liberals to pick him apart everyday. It got to the point it was painfull to watch.

Why isn't Palin fighting back against the haters like Steve Schmidt ? Why, oh why would she go campaign for someone who hired Steve Schmidt ?

Why was she is Wasilla and not in Massacusetts helping out early this week ?

She doesn't seem to have the fire in the belly. I thought I was supporting a gunslinger and a fighter.

Sen. John McCain founded a think tank, The Reform Institute, which has taken donations from many organizations. Most of them are liberal, George Soros in particular.

Perhaps she is going to 'support' him in the same way he 'supported' her.

Although I would be more concerned if she had helped out in Massacusetts with the election of a 'not according to Hoyle' conservative, rather than paying off a debt to the man who gave her a political opportunity and introduced her to the world.

“Mapco and Fu’Kin Kerry left MY Brothers for dead,,,”

I don’t think that has been determined, nor has McCain’s treatment while being held in Vietnam been determined. There is, however, much available to show the character of both Kerry and McCain. In a time when honor and duty were more important than one’s life Kerry would have gotten what he deserves.

McCain’s treatment of Alfond, and her party, was reprehensible, it clearly showed what kind of man he was. His running for the tall grass over Gitmo (it wasn’t about the location it was about phony claims of “torture”) also showed that whatever courage he had was depleted.

There has also been some indications that McCarran is a little unstable, this was more apparent in the 2000 campaign that the 2008 campaign... maybe he’s been undergoing treatment.

We need, as Rush as said, to do a much better job of evaluating of candidates, we also need better people to select from.

We are beginning to see exactly how fickle, and irrational, Gov. Palin’s supporters are, many also seem to want a candidate who will satisfy their every whime... they will never be satisfied for long.

We need better candidates, but first we need an electorate who evaluate candidates abilities instead of viewing it as a popularity contest.

Thanks for the ping, JustPiper.

This stood out in Michelle’s article: “Tea Party activists are rightly outraged by Sarah Palin’s decision to campaign for McCain, whose entrenched incumbency and progressive views are anathema to the movement. At least she has an excuse: She’s caught between a loyalty rock and a partisan hard place.”

I heard McCain say (on local radio) that Sarah came to HIM and asked if she could help. From what I hear, there’s a fundraiser in AZ on either March 25, 26 or 27 (can’t remember exactly).

The “Tea Party Express” is coming here on Sunday, March 28. Should be very interesting to see if she stays here for that.

Now throw in the fact that JD (although not officially announced) is going to run AGAINST McCain, all I can say is *STAY TUNED*!

Sarah is the best thing since sliced bread!!! I saw this coming a long time ago, I posted about it, it`s in my in forum posts.

Sarah was going to be in a dilemma with McCain because we knew this was coming, makes it even more difficult now that JD is actually running.

I am outraged with the entire McCain family for not defending Sarah against Smitty, Nicole and the gang. Not to mention McCain dumping on Sarah on a late night talk show.

But Sarah has taken the high road against him, continues to thank him for his service etc. I do not quite understand it all, perhaps she really has respect for the man despite their differences.

If Sarah was asked to campaign with McCain and turned him down? That would have seemed petty and disrespectful to many. As much as John McCain is disliked by so many Conservatives, he is respected much by the more moderate wing.

I am with Sarah all the way no matter what!!

I wonder if she has a way around this without, completely dishing McCain? Perhaps she could just go to the private fund raiser and skip the public rally? Perhaps also attend a fund raiser for JD??

She`s in a tough situation, but like I said I am with Sarah all the way, whatever happens

Or she could change her mind? Or could she recuse herself?

Not knocking your position as we all have that in us to some degree or another.

But that position is what gives us Obama, Bush, McCain, or others in that we support them no matter what they do. We are humans and as such we have our comfort levels with others, some agree with and others disagree. Take care.

You're bailing waaaay too early, and all the reasons you've given on this thread are pretty thin.

Less drama queen, more fortitude on your part.

I was speaking of Sarah Palin only!!!! She is once in a lifetime candidate, has done nothing wrong and I still believe will be the nominee if she wants to be. She was going to be in a bad spot with McCain, most of us saw this coming.

So go $#^& yourself

You're saying that Romney was better than Arnold? Give me a break. Arnold is a nightmare, but at least he hasn't (yet, anyway!) presumed to dictate health insurance mandates on every individual, employer, employee, insurance company, and doctor in the state.

And at least I have the good sense to have regretted voting for him. You're here bragging on Romney even after the math shows how much he damaged the state in terms of employment and production (Diogenesis doesn't just pull that stuff out of his ass, you know).

Methinks that in that sixth grade class of mine, you'd have gone right along with the teacher and sung "Where have all the flowers gone" complete with crocodile tears.

I sure wish all you East Coast liberals had stayed there, instead of coming to my California. Where do you think Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein were born, raised, and educated? In YOUR neck of the woods,.

And where do you think Free Republic was born? Yep -- right here in CALIFORIA. "Lighten up" THAT.

"And thanks for voting for Brown. LOL"

Yikes ... and now your pal Romney has dodged out of your state (hmmmmmm ..... why, I wonder? Hmmmmmmm) and moved HERE to California. It’s one-way migration. Why aren’t you petitioning Romney to come “home” to you — OH HOW I WISH YOU WOULD!
