How Long Till FR Turns On Brown?
Jan. 20. 2010 | tlb

Posted on 01/20/2010 2:42:05 AM PST by tlb

The dem campaign tried to portray Brown as a right wing Neanderthal. As far as I can tell from a distance, he in reality is a centrist mildly leaning to the left.

For that particular state in 2010 this may be their idea of a conservative, but it's difficult to imagine anybody like an actual across the board conservative winning this election. Even against Coakley.

The only big political name from outside the state he brought in to campaign was bogeyman Rudy Giuliani. He seems tight with Mitt Romney and Romney policies. In his victory speech he prominently and unreservedly praised Ted Kennedy. He's spoken in favor of alternative green energy technologies and has said the battle over gay marriage in the state is settled. And at some point you can depend the Obama administration will find issues his state would wish and demand he support. That's a lot of failed litmus tests for both the purists and the paulists.

Will people accept the reality that a centrist is better then a Kennedy Machine puppet? Or can we look forward yet again to Truth Files, barrages of RINO and traitor accusations, and snide and petty posts about his nude modeling photos.

Once the health bill is settled it will be interesting to see how long before the sugar buzz ends and the daggers come out.

The consensus is Zero needs to be less of an idealogue and start reaching across the aisle to survive. Does FR need to do the same?

Oh rly?

Are we so stuck in losing elections and being the minority party, that a winning, articulate champion who TROUNCED the leftwing machine in the bluest of blue states - is somehow not to be taken seriously?

The guy is a brilliant politician! A natural winner. Did any of the so quick to criticize Scott Brown nay sayers actually see his victory speech? It was electric.

He’s charming. No tele-prompter needed to be witty. Thinks on his feet. Connects with the so-important independents.

Patriotic. A veteran. Family man. Charming as can be.

Get Palin and Brown together, and the GOP cannot be stopped.

For crying out loud.

Scott Brown is a WINNER. Quit with the circular firing squad!!!

Let’s please introduce Governor Palin, and Senator Brown. And get the 2012 GOP electoral wipe-out of the Marxist madness we’ve been watching, underway.

“I would be more concerned with what other Pubbie Senator the Dems will concentrate on to try to buy off. The fight is just beginning.”

Certainly its not time to sit back on the couch and Snow is not trustworthy. She’s a RINO afterall.

However this gives numerous Dems the cover they have been looking for. I don’t see this going through but I think BO is going to use every dirty trick to try.

Nov 2010 will see many incumbents looking for a new job.

They can’t help themselves.

So predictable. We get a significant victory and the "conservative purist" boo-birds are pissed-off!

You just couldn't savor the moment for a day or two, could you!

Pathetic.

This election certainly got the Accidental Senator’s (Jim Webb) attention, and he’s not even running until 2012.

What a novel concept! But don’t hold your breath.

I am not convinced that most of the RINO venom, purist claptrap posted here isn’t stirred up by trolls, and I admit I let myself get pulled off focus by one troll in particular. Best way to handle them is with one full-force flamethrower in the face, then ignore them after that.

It’s great that Brown won because he does represent opposition to our most immediate problem but don’t go crazy over him. Politically, he’s pretty far left of most of us. I’d say he slots in somewhere between the twin nitwits of Maine and Chuck Grassley. He’s infinitely better than Coakley but we’re going to need to coach him up a bit regarding limited gov’t and Constitutional fidelity.

Still, a moderate in Massachusetts is akin to a fire-breathing arch-conservative in, say, Texas, comparatively speaking.

Absolutely right. In these parts, the piney woods of east Texas, he would not be considered a conservative. God Bless Texas, maybe now we won't have to secede.

I don’t care if Scott Brown sacrifices small furry animals to Satan in the Senate chambers. As long as he votes AGAINST Obamacare.

I have to agree with you. I believe this election could change the way things are done. One of the things I noticed is that it did not appear that the had a huge gaggle of advisors stepping in for him. He campaigned the old fashioned way, hoofing it and meeting with the PEOPLE of MA instead of only hosting high dollar fund raisers with the elites.

I like him and look forward to seeing how he will preform in DC. As for talk of being President, no! Not until we see him for at least the next 6 or 8 yrs. If he can maintain his promises and votes with common sense then we can talk. We have to quit with getting all worked up over a few phrases and start looking at records.

Only time will tell, but so far so good.

I believe if it wasn’t for Palin, this movement across the country would have never got to this boiling point. She gave potential canidates the thought that someone down to earth and honest could win. For goodness sake he openly stated that he believes in waterboarding and won in MA.

Accept moderates or face minority political status.

I would be more concerned with what other Pubbie Senator the Dems will concentrate on to try to buy off. The fight is just beginning.

I wouldn't be too concerned. The last people any Democrat wants to hear from now would be Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid.

I think a lot of them will be "unavailable".

If by “turn on him” you mean critizing him when he votes with the demonrats against what I consider the best interest of this country, then I reserve the right to do so against not only him, but any other member of congress.

Just because he won does not mean he should be immune to critizism. If we support him no matter what he does, we are no better than the Rats.
