I think you're on to something. This has to be a Japanese animatronic bot.
The robot comment - along with the telepromters reminds me of a trip to Disney World. My little daughter is watching intently - front row - in the President’s Hall. She isn’t blinking, turns and whisper’s “So George Washington is still alive?” No honey, most of these presidents are dead - these are just robots.
She keeps watching, just enthralled. Lincoln gets done talking, and he is holding something white in his hands, a book, eyeglass case - or something.
My daughter leans over and whispers again, in all seriousness “He needs those notes for his speech because he is just a robot”.
