Video: Vikings throw late TD in blowout, Brooking goes after Favre

Did the Minnesota Vikings run up the score on the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff? Keith Brooking(notes) thinks so. A late Brett Favre(notes) touchdown pass infuriated the Dallas linebacker, who charged over to the Vikings' sideline to voice his displeasure. And in his postgame press conference he didn't back down. The Vikings had held a comfortable 27-3 lead since the early part of the fourth quarter. Dallas looked completely deflated after going down 24 points and the team's subsequent play did nothing to dispel that notion. On the Cowboys' next two possessions the team went four-and-out, gaining a mere 14 yards on eight plays.

If the Cowboys did not want the Vikes to score another TD they should have played some defense.

Or, Jerry Jones and that Son of a Bum coach should have forfeited the game sometime before that Washed Up Junkie could throw yet
another TD.

I am happy to see that Troy is "married" and by this picture it seems that Troy is a Fabulous dresser. I imagine that Troy's Closet is full of gay apparel.

I was at the game yesterday, and I can say, without a doubt, that it was one of the most electric crowds I have ever seen. I was afraid that the old crappy dome was going to topple.

GO VIKINGS!!!!!

When there are less than 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter and the score is 27-3, it is pretty much over. On 4th down, a running play would not have raised anyone’s ire if the running back broke it for a touchdown. A first down means the game is over and Favre can run out the clock. Throwing a deep ball on that play was a low-class stunt worthy of Buddy Ryan.

So, if the Vikings had scored on a running play with less than 2 minutes to play in the fourth quarter against the Cowboys, then that would have been fine and dandy with everybody, but by scoring on a pass play in the same situation, it's considered a low-class stunt? Who the heck comes up with these silly nonsensical unwritten "rules"?

It was totally classless for the Vikes to run up the score at the end of the game after everyone already knew they had won. .....A running play or even a kneel down would have displayed some class, ....

Yeah, and maybe the NFL could have all of the players wear tuxedos, and then they could call it the Gentlemen's Football League.

People who have a sense of respect for competition and respect for the game and respect for their competitors. You know, basically the kind of people with character, who object to the idea of deliberately trying to humiliate one's opponent rather than simply winning.

Even Jimmy Johnson said if you don’t like what a team is doing, then stop them from doing it.

It’s the playoffs. Quarter should neither be asked for nor given.

As a Viking fan, I’ve personally waited 35 years for my team to lay the smack down against Dallas in the playoffs and yesterday my wish came true.

I’d also expect the Saints to try to do the same thing if they get us down on the mat on Sunday.

That’s life. Get a helmet.

It’s pretty much the same idea that a team that is up by 10 runs in the 8th inning doesn’t steal, or pull a hit and run, etc. If you do that, you can bet that the next batter is going to get a fastball in the ear. And after that pitcher is tossed out, the relief pitcher will put a fastball in the next batter’s ear.

“When there are less than 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter and the score is 27-3, it is pretty much over.”

If that was the case, why were the Cowboys calling time outs?
