Blame Beacon Hill (Coakley's loss isn't Obama's fault. Here's why ...)

The epic battle between Republican Scott Brown and Democrat Martha Coakley is drawing national attention as a referendum on President Obama. But Brown is also tapping into that special brand of anger that helps Republicans beat Democrats in otherwise solidly blue Massachusetts.
When the party in power gets too arrogant - as often, it does - the people get mad. Over the past two decades, they sent their message by electing three successive Republican governors.
On Tuesday, they may signal their disgust with the status quo by sending Brown to Washington to succeed Edward M. Kennedy, the most iconic of Democrats.

A slightly more elaborate twist on the Corzine and Deeds "local issues" defense. But still boils down to: it's Deval Patrick's fault, not health care.
Delusions, delusions.

They can stick a feather in their caps and call it macaroni for all I care, just so long as Brown wins.

Here in Virginia the problem was definitely Obama and his running dog lackeys. Guy has a vast supply of third-rate assistants to bring in to run the government and it shows ~ people just couldn't get some of this stuff out of their minds.
In Massachusetts it's Obama again. Plus, of course, his third rate staff ~ they engineered Coakley into the candidacy. It's not her fault she's a total doufous.

I get it Joan, it's like when the dominant broadhseet newspaper in a market gets too arrogant. You should know.
And don't tell me it's not about Obama. If it weren't for Obama and his arrogant socialist policies the whole nation wouldn't give a rat's rear end.

It’s anything and everything EXCEPT a referendum on Obama and health care.

Agreed, sort of. The issue isn't "health care", nor is it "local issues" (I'm in NoVA and saw the Deeds/McDonnell race play out first hand). The author has it right, it's "arrogance". Something that the Left, exemplified by BOTH Deval Patrick and Barack Obama and their approach (singular) to governing despite the wishes of The People. Health Care is just a symptom of the underlying problem.

The spin is already starting and the election didn't even start yet. Liberals still don't understand how big the tea party movement really is. They have managed to piss off millions of voters with their arrogant power grab. They add fuel to the fire every time they insult people by calling them teabaggers. Democrats would watch what they say if they had their heads in reality instead of their asses.

They add fuel to the fire every time they insult people by calling them teabaggers. Which is very interesting. Notice how Dems are always insulting their special groups of voting blocks? A person on the right makes a disparaging remark about "teabagging" and the gay lobby would be on the warpath, fully backed by the media. Yet the whole Democrat party constantly does it. Reid and Clinton make racist statements and black "leaders" rush to defend him. Jesse Jackson's Hymie statements cause barely a ripple. Hillary Clinton's "Jew Bast**d" rant? Dem Jews rush to her defense.
Doesn't say much for these people that they are so willing to be shiat upon for such dubious rewards.

I actually agree with this to a large degree. Right now in Massachusetts, the dems control everything - AND hold federal power. If Patrick is doing to Massachusetts what Granholm is here, there's trouble.
I don't know if it is still the case, but there's the academia crowd vs the more populist yellow dog Irish Catholics there. If one of those oxes (or both) are getting gored (Obama's health care tax), then there's going to be problems.
