A slightly more elaborate twist on the Corzine and Deeds "local issues" defense. But still boils down to: it's Deval Patrick's fault, not health care.
Delusions, delusions.

They can stick a feather in their caps and call it macaroni for all I care, just so long as Brown wins.

Here in Virginia the problem was definitely Obama and his running dog lackeys. Guy has a vast supply of third-rate assistants to bring in to run the government and it shows ~ people just couldn't get some of this stuff out of their minds.
In Massachusetts it's Obama again. Plus, of course, his third rate staff ~ they engineered Coakley into the candidacy. It's not her fault she's a total doufous.

“....When the party in power gets too arrogant ...”
I get it Joan, it's like when the dominant broadhseet newspaper in a market gets too arrogant. You should know.
And don't tell me it's not about Obama. If it weren't for Obama and his arrogant socialist policies the whole nation wouldn't give a rat's rear end.

Must protect OBAMA!!! Must protect OBAMA!!! Must protect OBAMA!!!
It’s anything and everything EXCEPT a referendum on Obama and health care.
Got it?

Agreed, sort of. The issue isn't "health care", nor is it "local issues" (I'm in NoVA and saw the Deeds/McDonnell race play out first hand). The author has it right, it's "arrogance". Something that the Left, exemplified by BOTH Deval Patrick and Barack Obama and their approach (singular) to governing despite the wishes of The People. Health Care is just a symptom of the underlying problem.

I actually agree with this to a large degree. Right now in Massachusetts, the dems control everything - AND hold federal power. If Patrick is doing to Massachusetts what Granholm is here, there's trouble.
I don't know if it is still the case, but there's the academia crowd vs the more populist yellow dog Irish Catholics there. If one of those oxes (or both) are getting gored (Obama's health care tax), then there's going to be problems.
