Martha Coakley must be getting pretty desperate.
See her latest add here

Disclaimer: it is a joke
I thought she said Curt Schilling is a Yankee fan.
?
One can always tell just how desperate a politician is by the ridiculous last minute ads they run. Coakley is no different. Obviously Coakley is a liberal because she thinks the electorate are a bunch of zombie sheep morons who will believe anything a liberal tells them. Since the tea party movement all across America, that won’t cut the mustard anymore.
Speaking of which:

Yup, an act of desparation. Who cares what baseball team is his favorite!
That said, you are correct. This is an act of desperation.
Just checked the ad. It’s a gag. I think it’s a take off of Hillary’s campaign where they got baby photos of her and put Yankees ball caps on her.
Allegedly she was joking...Schilling has endorsed Brown who as far as I know is a Sox fan. Schilling campaigned for W in 04. Pix on bostondirtdog.com (November 2004 archive)
oops, bostondirtdogs that should say
Spoof of the “Republican Scott Brown..” ads
Last night on WBZ Boston she jokingly said Schilling was a Yankees fan
She wasn’t joking. Listen to the audio. She had no idea he was a Red Sox pitcher.
And of course sports figures endorse products, as advertisers figure it will influence our buying decisions. A few weeks back I saw a billboard for an expensive watch, being sold at a nearby jeweler. Guy looked familiar...
“Hey...it’s, it’s Tiger...”
Days later the company announced they were taking Woods off that campaign (though I think they changed their mind later). Yes, the watch is stylish but what really makes people want to buy it is that Tiger wears it. Or so they feel.
No, she wasn't joking, she was displaying her appalling ignorance. Dan Rhea gently tried to correct her and she immediately backed down. BTW, Dan Rhea is probably the fairest guy on the Boston media scene. He isn't hard-hitting enough to moderate a debate, he doesn't confront guests with gotcha questions, unlike that a$$hole Andy Hiller.
Actually, it was Coakley who said she was a Yankee fan because the Yankees are good enough for Hillary, or something like that. Coakley doesn’t like sports or sports fans because they are beneath her. For that matter, she doesn’t like people. It was a bitter, cold, November morning, or maybe October, when Coakley was overheard saying she wouldn’t attend a globalist warming rally because the people were disease ridden, and that goes along with her comments about snotty-handed sports fans. Really, the old broad has noting but contempt for the little people who vote for her. She depends on union thugs, commie committees, the gay and women’s rights organizations to do her PR. That’s why her campaign is so awful.
The above may not be entirely correct, but it is believed to be an accurate representation of Coakley. Pass it along.
Headline: Tag Heuer Ending Relationship with Tiger Woods.
My Thought: So’s Elin Nordegren.
Speaking of which, good to have Barney Frank on your campaign, Martha.
You’re right; what I thought I heard was that she was claiming to be joking.
From Curt Schilling’s 38 pitches blog
I’VE BEEN CALLED A LOT OF THINGS
But never, and I mean never, could anyone ever make the mistake of calling me a Yankee fan. Well, check that, if you didnt know what the hell is going on in your own state maybe you could
.
So now "joking" is her story? She was dead serious and completely clueless last night.
That has got to be the stupidest pol ad I have ever, ever seen.
WHY?
WHO CARES?
