It's been consistently cold here. At or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for almost a month. But that isn't all that abnormal.
It is winter time after all.

If you’re really interested, here in North/Central West Virginia it’s been snowing and very cold from New Years to yesterday. We are warming now and the snow is melting.
Now about this “thermal inversion.” I always thought that was when a layer of dense cold air settled over warm air thus not allowing the less dense warm air from escaping up.
