Dallas Township police used a Taser on a Misericordia University student from Bloomsburg after she kicked an officer and tried to escape from a patrol car Tuesday.
Felicia M. Pellitteri, 48, faces charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, escape, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
The incident started around 3 p.m., when Pellitteri became unruly in Misericordia's administration building and was asked to leave by campus security officers.
Dallas Township police officers spoke with Pellitteri but she wouldn't follow directions and tried to get back into the administration building. When police blocked her way, Pellitteri kicked Officer Mark Liparela, police said.
Pellitteri was arrested, handcuffed and put in the back of the Dallas Township patrol car. She freed herself from the handcuffs and tried to escape from the vehicle by crawling through the partition to the front seat, police said. Pellitteri kicked Liparela again when he attempted to secure her in the rear of the police car. He had to use a Taser to subdue her so she could be taken to the station for processing, police said.
Pellitteri was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Paul Roberts Jr., who imposed $10,000 unsecured bail. She was released to her husband.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge James Tupper in Kingston Township.
Well, she is going to face two felony charges now...
