I may be completely wrong about this, but it seams to me with the global temps being as low as they are, plus the added need to shelter cash ahead of inflation along with a weak dollar are what are driving the oil prices higher.

If traders drive the price in the futures market, why isn’t the price much different in the spot market where they are taking delivery?

Where has this guy been? The SemGroup bankruptcy in 2008 marked the very top of the oil market and the beginning of its complete collapse in less than five months.
