Well, here it is, the final game of the 2009 college football season. For much of the bowl season, I've had to work, get my car fixed, and Google search any insignificant question and computer problem my grandparents call me about. (You would think with their age and guile they'd have the answers to various things readily available. You would think). So needless to say, this has kept me from my assigned college football commenting duties. For that I apologize, but tonight I will get the festivities going. So without further ado...
The BCS National Championship Game: Alabama vs. Texas (8:00 pm) From the moment this matchup was set, I've been pondering what the key to this game should be and ultimately what it will be. Could it be the Longhorn offensive line having a chance to contain the legendary Mt. Cody? How about the Tide secondary and what they'll have to do to contain Jordan Shipley? And let us not forget the mystery of chessboxing that could occur between Nick Saban and Mack Brown. But I keep hearing that the Tide are going to make mince meat of the Horns, and that kind of ignores recent history. What did we learn from the last time we saw Texas in a title game? We should have learned not to count them out, right? So keep this in mind before we coronate a team in a game like this. In my usual neutral third party kind of observational style though, that doesn't necessarily mean that the Tide aren't every bit as good as advertised. I happen to think so, for whatever that's truly worth.
Alabama is collapsing. Yikes.
Well well well it looks like we got ourselves a football game.
You called it!
No matter what happens the kid showed us something. Future looks bright. Imagine if Coack Mack did not have that boneheaded play calling before the half.
This kid had only played 29 downs. They're probably going to win, but they don't deserve to.
It is stunning, really.
That shuffle pass at the end of the first half should have been caught by the receiver. If it had been, TX might be ahead. I think Alabama went to the prevent offense at the start of the second half. Big mistake.
Well couldas and shouldas, but with one TD called back and the giveaway TD, that’s 11 points.
I know.
The game is completely different. This is college though.
Yes indeed.
Its now time for Mr Ingraham to earn that Heisman. Lets see what happens.
Ingram gets a big first down carry. Yeah, I’d say he earned that Heisman.
Well what do you know. Colt McCoy gets hurt and a good football game breaks out!!
It just took a while for Texas to figure it out.....
But now Mark Ingraham is back in and gets a huge 1st down!!
SEC as a whole is sweating this game out right now.
Hush, you! ;)
Oh man, oh man.
‘Bama will punt probably UT’s last chance. What a surprise of a game!!!!
Big surprise! Hook ‘em!!!!
