I’m interested in this as a case study in marketing business dynamics, the flip side of using ‘idols’ as marketing tools. Were such a rumor to be shown true would it hurt Golf long term, would it hurt the brands, and what’s the differential in the damage.

I’ve always felt there was something odd about Magic Johnson insisting that he got AIDS through women. I believe the odds of that are still astronomically low. Yet Black men in the USA are still the highest group for HIV, so there is definitely something going on.
