Not long ago Hawaii was undefeated and played the third place SEC team (Georgia)...before the game, all the lesser conference folk where bitching and moaning about Hawaii not being the the championship game...they got get 45-6.

Hawaii was an exception to the rule; most of the time these lesser conference bring their A games and perform. Last year the Utah Utes beat the Crimson Tide by the same margin as the National Champion Gators, and two years before that routed the Big East champion by 35 points. Boise State bested Oklahoma in the most memorable BCS bowl in history.

How many BCS games do they have to win before given a chance at the title?

Lest see:

TCU beat Virgina this year 30-14. William and Mary beat Vrigina by almost the exact score. 9-4 Miame beat Virgina 52-17. 10-3 Virgina Tech beat Virgina 42-13. Yet, all the lesser conference folk were up in arms that TCU was the BEST..why, because they were undefeated...then they played a higher ranked team, Boise, and got beat....

Boise...they beat beat Oregon...oh boy, so did Stanford, running up 51 points on them...UCLA (that’s right, the 6 loss UCLA beat Oregon WORSE than Boise did)..7 loss Washington beat UCLA 45-10.

You guys get all glassy eyed just because these teams are “undefeated”...well they wouldn’t be if they played in the SEC, Big-10, Big-12, PAC-10, etc..

OH WE NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM, if for no other reason, just so the Boise States and TCU’s of the world would have to face tough competition in the post season....BEFORE a shot at the big game...They can win a bowl game here and there against the other conference runner-ups, but they would NOT survive a playoff system.
