State Sen. Anthony D. Galluccio was led away in handcuffs today, sentenced to one year in jail for violating the terms of his home confinement.
A judge sentenced the Cambridge Democrat after a full day of testimony over his failed Breathalyzer test Dec. 21.
Galluccio blamed the bad test results on his toothpaste.
He must now serve out his term in the House of Correction.
Developing ...
Mass. (State) Senator, DUI, caused injury in auto accident,
left scene of accident...sound familiar?
Given several Breathlyzer tests a few days later, came up positive, blamed it on alcoholic content in toothpaste.

HAMMERED
is he a current sitting senator...??
yes; at first his probation allowed him out to formal Senate sessions (but this was during holidays so there would be few) and church. When he failed (multiple) the breath test at home, his home confinement was stretched to complete, pending hearing today. Now he’s heading to Billerica House of
Correction for a yr (pending appeal?)
anything in the laws that he will have to vacate his seat...??...
Sounds like a candidate for Dancing With The Stars. Girlfriend of mine refused to watch DWTS because DeLay was on it ... guess she won’t watch any politician on anything any more ...
We’ll have to see; wondering when State Sen President Therese Murray will comment
from Nov (before he violated parole)

Senate head to Anthony Galluccio: Get a driver
>>Angry over Sen. Anthony Galluccios latest roadway ruckus, Senate President Therese Murray has advised the two-time drunken driving lawmaker to get himself a driver, the Herald has learned.
>>Beacon Hill sources said Murray privately gave the Cambridge Democrat the advice in response to newly disclosed information that Galluccio was chauffeured home by Cambridge cops at 4:40 a.m. Oct. 4, just hours before he slammed his SUV into a minivan in a hit-and-run crash. Galluccio, 42, refused comment.
Senate President Therese Murray took direct aim at state Sen. Anthony Galluccio yesterday after the repentant Cambridge Democrat pleaded guilty in a hit-and-run crash and was sentenced to six months of home confinement during which he cant touch a drop of booze.
Galluccio, 42, said he is relinquishing his committee appointments and chairmanship as Murray requested, but she let it be known his political future is on thin ice.
He now must consider whether he can continue to serve his constituents and the commonwealth given the restrictions of his sentence, said Murray, adding she will consult her Senate colleagues about a next step.
