Giants just mailed it in today. Absolutely pathetic, they can't even play for pride. That does not bode well for Tom Coughlin's future with the club.

I'm also surprised with the way Indy and NO are playing today. Granted, they have already clinched 1st week bye but you'd think they would work a little harder to keep sharp, knowing they have an entire week to rest. In my opinion both teams lost a lot of momentum over past few weeks and despite being unstoppable most of the season, Indy and NO are very vulnerable week after next.

Got to hand it to the Pats. They still have Tom Brady playing deep in the 4th quarter in a meaningless game for them. That's the difference between them and the "quittin' Giants."

Steelers are whacking the Dolphins literally. Poor Pat White just about got killed - that has to be a pretty serious concussion. The Dolphins looked like they had a chance before Henne got hurt.

TYLER THIGPEN???

Sounds like the answer to a trivia question …

If the Gints fire Coughlin, Mike Holmgren and Randy Lerner better be on the phone with him as fast as Lerner was with MANGENIOUS!!

AND ALLEGRA’S TEXICANS TAKE THE LEAD!!!

The Indy-Bills game was about the only one I felt confident about this week. I thought the Bills would win. The Colts have been taking a lot of heat for throwing away a perfect season, and this was a game they wanted to lose so if they win the SB, twenty years from now people wouldn’t be talking about the Jets game.

When I saw the score (Vikings 44, Giants 7), I thought that was just a totally pathetic performance by the Giants. I'm not looking forward to the screaming headines on the back pages of the New York Daily News and New York Post tomorrow.

THE ALTERNATIVE TO “complicated scenarios” .... (UPDATED AT 4:30PM)

... the final draft on the easiest way to do the AFC wildcard. After TODAY, teams finish 9-7:

1. NYJ ...... 9-7 .... conference 7-5 (has S.O.V. over BALT & DEN)
2. BALT ...... 9-7 ................... 7-5 (beat DEN head-to-head)
3. DEN ...... 9-7 .................. 7-5
*4. HOUS won!, now 9-7 .................. 6-6 (won “common games” over PITT)
*5. PITT won!, now 9-7 ................. 6-6

the TOP TWO get the Wildcard. If a team loses, cross them OFF and move everyone BELOW up one.

(... so here’s examples: HOUS must win and have 2 teams above them lose to move from 4. to 2. and get a Wildcard. PITT must win and have 3 teams above them lose to move from 5. to 2.)

PATS have clinched tiebreaker over CINN at 10-6, so if CINN loses, they are #4, PATS are #3.

Yeah, the Giants better hope for a Jets win to take the collapse out of the papers. OTOH, if the Jets blow it, maybe they’d be the whipping post.
