Yeah. Hard to make a real change when the disease has a majority vote on what the treatment should be.
There were a few buildings with lovely architecture that were empty. Such a shame. The same is happening in Toledo. Or should I say Frogtown? The name being some idiot mayor’s idea. With large frogs on corners of the downtown Toledo area.
I was born in Northeast Philly in 1963. We fled the city in 1968. Never were able to sell the rowhome.
Yoday you can use Google Earth to see that very same street that I played on as a child. t looks like a warzone. Things have fallen down and collapsed, but not a one seems to have deliberately torn down or improved on.
It is a disgrace and an indictment of Democrats and their liberal Utopian dreamworls.
Looks like post-colonial Africa.
Michighan Central has been abandoned since 1988. That is 21 years ago!!
I guess they would not even waste the dynamite on it?
A friend I have living near Detroit calls it DETOILET,
because it is a $-—HOLE!!

Response: A new dark age IS taking root!
“The city council voted in April to raze the station, but a month later, State Sen. Cameron Brown (R) proposed saving it for homeland security and other government operations.”

What a moron! This building has been wasting for 21 years and now it is a national treasure!
Even if they could repair the structure they could never make the surrounding areas safe to any potential tenant.
After i saw the video I question why didn’t someone turn in those cars as Cash For Clunkers? Also why not condemn and demolish the abandoned buildings and start a forest? You know GREEN JOBS,clean air and for the children. Maybe another airport for importing Terrorists.
I was born in 1950. Grewup in Toledo in the house my Grandpa built. Small but not an inch of space was wasted. Built in cupboards in the dining room. Screened in porch. Saw it for the first time since 1980. No screens. Painted baby poop yellow and brown. Yuk. Speed bumps on the street. Rabble has taken over the neighborhood.
I feel sorry for the people there. Detroit was grand. Really grand. Ditto all the old, big rust belt cities. Not so anymore.
Not a bad idea.
In Michigan, Detroit is not alone...Flint and Benton Harbor are also war zones. There are no go areas for the police. I was born and raised there. It was a great place until the early sixties...Mayor Cavanaugh and later Coleman Young turned the streets over to criminals...the sixty-seven riot finished what was left. Lyndon Johnson turned it into a urban reservation, where young women were payed to have babies...crime went crazy...everyone who could...left.
Bars and steel doors are on homes left; but there aren’t many...forty percent of the town is abandoned.
Don’t tell the mainstream media...they might have to look at big spending Democrat policies.
Detroit was a awesome town back in the 50’s and early 60”s then the 1968 riots hit and it’s been down hill since then.
We certainly didn’t enjoy it. Wish that I could remember what hotel we were in but I don’t.
