That’s true. No matter what I want to do, His will trumps mine.

DO YOU MAKE GOD LAUGH?
No, but I get this a lot.
To: freedomyes
That is true. And quite Scriptual. See Psalms.

I would be honored to have God laugh at me. I sincerely hope that He got His share of belly laughs and knee slappers at my expense, with more to come. :)

It is hard to tell a joke when the audience knows the punch line a thousand years before you are born.

Any life run on self will is destined to never be one of fufillment IMHO.
To: rbosque
I make suggestions or requests to God for stuff I’d like to do, or hope to do, or see as things I might do for a living, especially since His word does say we are supposed to work for our bread. So far I have heard no response; He hasn’t pointed me in the direction He wants my life to go. This is okay—I can wait on His perfect will to be revealed—but regrettably Chase Mortgage Group and Potomac Electric and Giant Food and Washington Gas are not interested in God’s will; they’re interested in getting money. I am pointing this out to Him.

If you have ever supervised or manged people you know that God has a terrific sense of humor. I truly believe that he laughs at us and with us. Our emotions are of his creation.

A friend said to me the other day: If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans. That's a line from a song. Google shows it as coming from Van Zant, but I remember it from a Montgomery Gentry song too.

Do you make God laugh?Yes.
The only thing in doubt is whether it's "with" or "at".

I wanted to do everything my brother did. I could fish, deliver newspapers, climb buildings, play baseball with the best of them....but couldn't be an altar boy.
But I had a plan!!
I went to our little church and walked down the aisle. I genuflected respectfully...took a deep breath and climbed over the rail.
I knelt down and lifted the bells and on my own "mea culpa" cue...rang the bells 3 times.
Back over the railing, genuflected and a quick splash of holy water and I was back on the street.
But I had that feeling....like someone was watching me and laughing.
