Grant, I wonder if you are a football fan? Just because, if so, I hope you're demanding to the team ownership that the whole team should be put to death immediately. After all, a literal reading of the Bible does tell us that anyone who works on Sunday should be killed, right? And you've apparently linked belief in Christ with blindly following everything in the Bible.

Give it a rest. Just because you post in a bastardized version of Hebrew does not make you an expert in Latin. Pontiff is a Latin word meaning Bishop with its origins of a bridge builder. Pontifex Maximus was reserved for the Jewish High Priest and no one else.
Where did you get the anti-semitic screed that It smacks of Jack Chick lies !! I find no evidence of the Pontiff meaning Bishop.
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
I do find pontifex as bridge in Latin.
the Jewish high Priest was ever called Pontifex Maximus ??
The initial state of the little baby girl isn’t innocence, but a state of existence involving spiritual separation from God. God originally created and formed man in body, soul, and spirit. Upon the original sin, spiritual death was immediate, and is passed physically from each and every generation until the next. We are condemned prior to being saved, but salvation is still possible, by simple faith alone in Christ alone. Further sanctification is also available, again through faith in Christ, by the work of God the Holy Spirit.
In many ways it really doesn’t matter if one deserves or should be liable. On the contrary, the issue is positional righteousness. If Perfect Justice finds one Perfectly Righteous, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done or haven’t done, the justice has already decided the matter.
What is your understanding of Original SinThe question to you, Mister N00bie, is :
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
Your source (DOCUMENTS FROM THE FIRST COUNCIL OF NICEA [THE FIRST ECUMENICAL COUNCIL] A.D. 325) was authored by Paul Halsall. It seems to me that you will accept any souce as long as it corroborates your preconceived smear.
24 but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.

Seniority means absolutely nothing. This isn't a union shop or a tenured position. I would much rather read a correct post by someone who has only been on FR for 10 minutes than contrived drivel from someone who has been here 10 years.
You seem to dodge all questions directed to you . How do you know, as you just arrived from Democrat Underground.
Nope. I'm claiming Paul Halsall is.
Paul Halsall is a medievalist born in the English midlands and partly educated in Scotland. Twenty years ago he moved to New York City to pursue graduate work in Byzantine studies at Fordham University. While still a graduate student he began to create web sites of great value to scholars. The most relevant in our context is People with a History (www.fordham.edu/halsall/pwh/). This is a major annotated bibliography covering gays, lesbians, and transpeople. There are links to other sites created by Halsall. PWH is an ideal supplement and continuation of Wayne Dynes, Homosexuality: A Research Guide.
Unfortunately Paul Halsall had to to discontinue this work in 1998 in order to complete his doctorate and to assume a professorship in history at North Florida University in Jacksonville. Recently, I heard that he had returned to England.

Isn’t it rather cruel to visit sins of those who lived long ago on an innocent baby who has done no harm to anyone?
Good post.
Are you claiming to impugn all of the scholarship of Haskel, Schiff and Fordam University ?shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
There is no value in anything you can post, thus I am engaging debate with others instead.
What is your understanding of Original Sin ?? I do not discern the Chesed(lovingkindness) of Yah'shua(Jesus)
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
I am impugning your scholarship.
1) There is no Haskel cited. You cited the works of a known pervert, Paul Halsall.
There is no Schiff cited. It was Philip Schaff, a 19th Protestant theologian. Hardly an objective, unbiased source.
3) Maybe you should study the proceedings of Fordham's Anti-catholicism Conference while you are at it. http://www.fordham.edu/
Attack the messenger.shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachNever the message.
Great scholarship.
It’s even more cruel to require Perfect Righteousness to endure the presence of evil even a short time. We are blessed that by His grace we all have opportunity to have fellowship with Him through faith in Christ.
Since all of those sins have been paid for by Christ, even that little girl before the age of accountability has an assured eternity future with Him, but as a person with volition, once she becomes aware of Him and should she reject the salvation made available to all, then she will simply remain in that state of spiritual death until the Great White Throne Judgment, where even her election and works shall be judged in righteous judgment.
It is only cruel in the eyes of a person who has a fundamental problem with righteous judgment, thinking forgiveness may occur without judgment and still be righteous, even independent of faith in the salvation provided by Christ.
