E harmony ping.
Isn’t Vitimen E supposed to be good for wart removal?
Since this was so full of qualifications, yet very little factual data, I think they should have written it like a “Jewish mother” would have said it.
Son: “Mama, I’m thinking of taking Vitamin E for my health.”
Mama: “What? Are you dying? Is there something wrong with you that you haven’t told me about? My only son...so young! I blame your father!”
Son: “No, Mama! I’m just going to take a little Vitamin E, because it is good for you.”
Mama: “Are you saying that I didn’t feed you a balanced diet? And now you are suffering and have to take vitamins because you are malnourished? Oh, how terrible! But you...such a picky eater. I can see how you are skin and bones already, a shell of a person.”
Son: “No, Mama, really, I’m fine. It’s just that a little Vitamin E won’t hurt.”
Mama: “Ha! How do you know it won’t hurt? It might be pure poison. But then again, it might not. Who’s to know? I don’t know. Likely nobody knows. And yet, here you are, wanting to gamble your life away taking pills.”
Son: “Okay, Mama. I won’t take any Vitamin E.”
Mama: “Are you sure? It might do you wonders! I and your father take it all the time. In any event you should eat more. If you should die it should not be from not eating.”
Thanks, Happy New Year!
Clearly, this is a bunch of claptrap.....
I don't know.
There are 8 different types of Vit. E and both “natural” and “synthetic” forms that may perform very differently in the human body. We know of only a few physiological functions. There is much more to learn between we start drawing this kinds of conclusions as the above article.
Thanks. They don’t specify what is a high dose so I’m comfortable with what I get in my supplements.
That's true. But it has recently been acknowledged that the RDA for vitamin D was set far too low. So the scare warnings on vitamin D from nutrition experts may have actually harmed the health of millions of people for decades.
I heard Vitamin E combats the vapours.
It should be the responsibility of each individual taking supplements to determine which amount is correct for them. Everybody’s system is different; some need more some need less than the recommended dosage.
Happy New Year everybody! Be safe if going out to celebrate.
And you.
Be safe if going out to celebrate.
I coated my car with vitamin E to ward off heart attacks. ;-)
lol not what I was referring to but quite funny.
Many of these studies are do not take account of the important difference between synthetic Vitamin E and full spectrum natural Vitamin E. In essence, taking synthetic or even natural d-alpha Vitamin E seems to cause a harmful imbalance in Vitamin E metabolism. ALWAYS take full spectrum natural Vitamin E that contains the full range of tocotrienols and tocopherols. If that is done, Vitamin E supplementation is beneficial.
May I have that for my psych students . . . ?
Love the double binding example.
A bit . . . personal . . . reminds me of . . .
mamma.
I usually go with NOW brands, Country Life, or Nature's Way.
Swanson looks good but the Natural Products Association doesn't list them as GMP-certified...
Thanks!
Jarrow is GMP certified.
