LAGUNA WOODS-City Manager Leslie Keane offered an apology to the organizer of a 9/11 memorial motorcycle ride after more than 60 riders and supporters showed up to a City Council Meeting on Oct. 22.

Some council members, including Mayor Bob Ring, said the city manager overreacted in her comments regarding one of the participants holding traffic at a red light for more than 100 riders at the intersection of El Toro Road and Moulton Parkway on Sept. 11. Keane and other council members also said the event can ride through the city next year provided it is done safely. Article Tab : Supporters of the 9-11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride applaud comments made by Long Beach firefighter Gary Biggerstaff as he addressed the Laguna Woods City Council on Oct. 21. City Manager Leslie Keane apologized for comments she made about the 9-11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for my part in that," Keane told a packed council chamber. "I am hopeful that we can move forward and if this ride comes to our city again that we can cooperate in making it a successful and safe ride."

Organizer and Long Beach City firefighter for the past 15 years, Gary Biggerstaff, said afterwards the apology was necessary. Although, he still asked that Keane contact the city agencies, such as those in Long Beach and Orange County, which she complained to after the ride. He said her actions damaged the reputation of the ride.

So, California is the model for all other states to follow?

How long have you lived there?

I’ve was born there and lived there for the first sixty years of my life, I moved to Oregon in 1990.

Which isn’t much better except there is more room and you can own any kind of firearm that you want to own and pack one on your person.

Be ever Vigilant!

I grew up in El Toro before it was renamed Lake Forest. It was an idyllic childhood, with many square miles of desert for a young boy to explore.

I ate my first and only rattlesnake there. It was breaded then grilled, which, in retrospect is a weird combination.

The last time I went back it had morphed into endless suburbia, which stretched as far as the eye could see, which wasn't very far due to all the smog.

California has problems, that's for sure. I've lived here all 52 years of my life. But one lady in Laguna Woods is not all of California.

Cagers being forced to sit through a green light cycle is the most heinous of crimes . . .

I agree and your defense of California is admirable..it’s still going in the toilet as long as politically correct progressive fascists are running it.
