The ice hockey rink is all set up at Fenway Park, in anticipation of the New Years Day meeting of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Boston Bruins.
The game starts at 1 PM Eastern time on NBC. For those with the NHL Network, there are pre game and post game programs scheduled.
James Taylor is slated to sing the National Anthem, and with the recent snow storms in the northeast, the cold, windy, Boston weather could make this game an instant classic!
It was a great game!
I love it when the Flyers lose!
;^)
That was the dumbest thing I ever saw a goalie do.
And it almost cost them the game.
It made him look pretty foolish. I think he knew he got lucky to not lose it for them. I was happy for him at the end when he was obviously overcome with emotion about being named to the team.
There was a great game on Sun this afternoon ... I love it when the Pens lose!
The Bolts took it to ‘em all day long and Cosby got suckered into a crosschecking penalty in the closing seconds to seal the score at 3-1 Bolts.
Pens are definitely in a funk.
Better now than at the end of the season, I guess.
nice!
Hockey Ping!
For those of us lucky enough to have the NHL Network, tonight is the ‘GOLD MEDAL’ round! 8 PM !!!
The USA vs. Canada in the IIHF Junior Championship!
Go USA!!!
Perhaps I’ll tune in after my Habs destroy the Caps. LOL
Thanks for the heads-up.
I’m waiting for the Pens / Thrashers game to start.
Pens have lost their last 5. Kunitz is a healthy scratch and Caputi (up from AHL) is in to try to shake things up.
GO PENS !!!
FYI - I’m a season ticket holder for the Hershey Bears, so I’ve actually met half of the Caps team when they were minor leaguers, including Coach Bruce Boudreau.
If Price is in net, you’re in trouble! ;^)
A great finish for the American boys!
And Carlson, who scored the game winner, was playing here in Hershey just last month!
