While some would alarm all-around abating a theory, others would alarm it a accurate set of facts. Opinions alter vehemently. Let us accede all-around abating to be both a apriorism that the ambiance of the apple as we apperceive it is slowly, but actual absolutely accretion in all-embracing air and baptize temperature, and a affiance that if whatever is causing this trend is not disconnected or challenged activity on apple will dynamically be affected.

Have no fear. As of now, I have four bookshelves in here, and eight crates of books in storage. And lots more room for other books and shelves. :o]

You wouldn’t believe some of the houses I’ve seen, and the prices asked for them.

This one is a little on the high side, but it’s close to being what I want. We’ll see what happens.

Oh, that’s spatial compression due to extreme hypervelocity acceleration.

I’m always shocked at how much people are asking for houses, and *for what*! We’ve been in this house more than six years, so maybe we’ll stay here until we can live in something smaller!

A fireplace?

I’ll bring the kindling.

I looked at one today that had dry rot on the floors, a hugh hole right through a wall, broken closet doors, missing kitchen cabinets, and ruined carpet. The price was $31,000. It would cost twice that to “fix” it.

There is another one that has a wall heater and evap cooler and the owners want $120,000 for it. Flat top, two bedroom 640 sq. ft.

And I’ve seen everything in between. I’ll still look on Friday, but the more I see of these homes, the more I understand why Henderson wants someone to buy them and fix them up. One just has to have deep pockets to “fix” a lot of them.

This one is 1558 sq ft on 1/4 acre.

That sounds like a manageable size, and you could xeriscape the yard ... natural desert!

Workday over. A difficult afternoon producing a "Use Case" document, one of two I am on the hook for. Almost there, with tables and charts and diagrams, but understanding the "Narrative" section (text description of what's going on) eluded me until just before it was time to come home. With a little luck I'll be able to complete both documents this week because after Tuesday I will have NO time for them and our Association is supposed to deliver these (20 or 30 or so) on the 30th. I am beat.

Housing here remains very expensive, though the house across the street has dropped in price close to the value of ours. It's a real pity -- the owner when we moved in had done a tremendous job of upgrading the place; house and grounds were gorgeous and when it sold it was half again the value of our house. A Microsoft couple bought it but a month later they were transferred away. It sat for a while and then another Microsoft couple bought it... and basically took no care of it at all.

Part of the front yard is desert landscape, but it also has three trees of differing growths. Right in the middle of the yard is a little patch of artificial turf. for whatever reason, but it’s kinda cute.

Later.

I’m gone!

Sounds like our first house in '79. Electric wall heater near front door, circular fireplace taking up most of the living room, flat roof, two bedrooms, 500- sq.ft. (Bedrooms so small our double bed left room for a dresser and a very narrow walk space -- no closets. $50k. In the mountains, small lot, 35 degree slope.

Heaven.

No, we haven’t had a bit. It’s been much colder than usual - 10 when I got up this morning, but today’s high was over 40. It might be 50 by Friday, and then they say we’ll get rain.

I’m at the very bottom of North Carolina. The weekend forecast has snow to our north, but not on us.

No snow in our forecast, but I am certain I saw some in the rain coming home. But I turned off the highway to go up to the ridge and then down home and there was no snow in the rain there. Odd.
