Just look at my screen name.
It's a love of freedom.
I'll give my labor to who I want to and when I want to....and do so MUCH more efficiently I might add.
Amen to everything this Marine says!
Me, too. I was reading a thread last night where FReepers were telling about their encounters with deadbeats using food stamps (although these days I guess they use *debit cards*) in grocery lines.
These deadbeats were buying steaks, expensive snack foods, etc. using OUR MONEY!!
Sure, I buy steaks....once every never.
Good post. I feel this way too. I just feel there is no hope. No reason to try. It doesn’t matter who we elect, the government just keeps getting bigger, taking more money in taxes, supporting stupid lazy people.
“We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names liberty and tyranny.”

So is Lili Von Sthupp!
Great article.
Read “Atlas Shrugged.” Then take a long vacation and wait for Obamanomics to self-destruct.
I have had personal experience of a very small sample of Section 8 recipients. Firstly, the house they were to occupy had to be upgraded from what the owner had accepted when she lived in it herself. Once installed, the proud tenant popped babies out from different fathers, thus ensuring larger and larger cash handouts for herself. As for working - no!
I know this refers to welfare and entitlements and so forth, but I run across this on my job.
'Gotta work harder to take up the slack and increase output because management refuses to fire the 'Protected', the drunks and the just plain stupid and lazy.
Seems you can't escape liberalism even on the job.
Great line.
I’m tired of...
I interview people applying for assistance from a local food/clothing bank. As part of the routine I have to ask if they are employed. 99.9% are not. And they say, “no”. My favs, though, are those poor souls who say, with an air of haughtiness, “I get a government check”.
THAT’S what I’m tried of. The whole entitlement mentality.
