I also had one of these to go with my .45-70 Revolver... also neat and fun to shoot, a bolt action rifle, with a tubular magazine and a hammer, that loaded through the butt plate:


1880 Remington Keene .45-70 Carbine

Mine was nickel plated with Indian Police markings, very rare. I bought it from The Bandito Gun Shop in Weimar, CA, on Interstate 80, just east of Auburn. I paid about $450 for it in the mid 1970s. Mine was really a pristine gun.
