Santa brought me an M1A. I think that they and the No. 5 Enfield (Jungle Carbine) are the sexiest firearms ever made. I learned during time spent in Alaska that anything chambered in .375 H&H is a favored general-purpose weapon. Pre-64 70’s are kind of like old T-Birds...just cool.
I have a No.4 Mk1. Love it. I also have a G.98 in my small collection o’ arms.
Our first deployment to Vietnam our ship had some firearms training. After firing the M-16 I thought there wasn’t much difference from my nylon66. Then I saw one of the Seawolf gunners fire his M-14. Right then I said I got to get me one of those. It took about 20 years,but now I have it. That’s up near the top of my list, but still behind my Garand.
