A year before her disappearance, Susan Powell thought about divorcing her husband and even put together a plan in case he tried to kidnap her sons or strip her of her finances, friends told The Salt Lake Tribune.
Susan Powell reportedly told her friends that she went so far as to set up her own bank account, prepare for a place to stay if she left her husband, Joshua Powell, and wrote up an informal will, the paper reported.
Her friends said Susan Powell wanted to make sure they all knew about her plans, the paper reported.
After fasting and praying, she made the decision to stay in her marriage, which many friends and family say had improved over the last year, according to the paper.

Sod....He’s got the kids as far as I know. Why??
IIRC - his sister was taking care of the children in Utah. Were they with him at the Washington State vigil?
I hope he and the children are being carefully monitored by LE and family members.
This could always turn ugly, especially if he feels cornered. That might be why Susan’s family keeps stating “he is a good father”.

The report says one friend confirmed Powell was concerned Josh might kidnap the couples two young sons, divorce her — “or worse.”
The friend, the newspaper notes, said Susan Powell had talked to her one day about something she had written and left in her desk at work. “She had mentioned about writing something so that no one would ever think she committed suicide,” the paper quotes the friend as saying. “She said it would be so her boys would know that she would never kill herself, because she would never leave her boys alone.”
If I was the grandfather I get three or four of my biggest, toughest friends, kidnap the moron and taken him to an undisclosed location where I can assure you he would confess willingly. Following the confession, he’d never be seen again. Forget the police. The guy in Chicago was cop, killed three of his four wives and is still walking around free.
If you are referring to Drew Peterson - he was arrested and is being held in jail for the drowning murder of his 3rd wife, Kathleen Savio and only a suspect in the disappearance of Stacey, his 4th wife.

IIRC - his first two wives are still alive.
However, your anger and frustration are normal human responses to these barbarians.
I have to say that I would do the same thing. Waiting on law enforcement to eventually get to the truth would probably not work well for me in such a situation.
