Lately the news has not been good - understatement of the year.
If you can spare two hours to have a "mood enhancing" moviegoing experience - please go see "Blind Side" with Sandra Bullock.
You are very welcome.
You may or may not know - Joe Theisman now lives in the Memphis area - where Michael Oher’s real high school is (Briarcrest Christian School)... We’ve seen Joe around in restaurants, etc. I just thought it was ironic.
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll look into it. It’s hard to find good movies these days.
The story behind the making of Blind Side is most interesting.
The script was taken to Fox, turned down!
Fred Smith CEO of FedEX believed in the film, invested his own money-28Mil..what's it made now close to $300Mil?
Nice return.
Good to hear - hope you will enjoy it!
Oh - I didn’t know that background on the film - yes, very nice return!
You’re welcome - and, yes, it is VERY hard to find a good movie. This is one!
How about that!!! The Joe Theismann being tackled replay was the very worst part of the movie - couldn’t watch the replays - but very critical to understanding the movie.
You are very welcome for the recommendation. (Something I don’t do re: movies - since I see so few of them....)
If you do get to see it over the holidays, please come back to this thread and post your evaluation of it.
Thanks!
Glad you went along with your family - and totally agree - I don’t want to spend full price for a movie ticket ever unless it is something simply spectacular.
Glad you thought the movie was good. And, yes, getting in on DVD will be a good move later if someone doesn’t want to spend the admission price (mine was only $7.00, not $10.00)
I went to see it in the theater because I had the opportunity to go (off for this week) and because I had seen one clip about it which made me want to see it.
After watching it - and after all the BAD NEWS we have endured on so many fronts, I just thought many people might need a “lift” for their spirits and if seeing a very positive, heartwarming, true story that actually pumps conservative values....well....that’s why I posted here about it.
Umm, you have to get through steeltown this weekend. Polamalu will be back, Big Ben is firing on all ten cylinders, and they just signed Joey Galloway. Your guys just lost Ladarius Webb, and Ed Reed is still questionable. This Sunday’s game is guaranteed to be the hardest-hitting best game of the week.
I agree with you!!! One of the best movies I have ever seen - and certainly the best recent movie I’ve seen....
Great! How long does it usually take from the first run before it is available on Netflix?
You are very welcome!! Yes = it has some great humor and wonderful lines....it will boost your spirits!
Enjoy!
You are welcome and am so glad you will be seeing “Blind Side”. Please come back here and post about your opinion of it after you see it.
Enjoy!
yeah. I saw it and loved it.
Of course, I adopted two older children, so love any story that shows adoption in a good light (usually liberals hate adoption, you know)...
Yes, he was too “old” to adopt, so they became his guardians, but emotionally he was their son.
okay, will do...
Glad you saw it and liked it - and that’s wonderful that you have adopted older children! How blessed are they! And you!
What an inspiration you are as are the family who adopted “big Mike”.

What an inspiration you are as IS (not ARE)family who adopted “big Mike”.
(fixed it)
