Rudy Guiliani Will NOT Run For NY Senate Seat In 2010
Friends and Fiends in NY | MB26

Posted on 12/21/2009 4:06:35 PM PST by MindBender26

Guiliani will NOT run for Senate this year. Like him or not, he was best chance for a MORE CONSERVATIVE candidate.

Don't waste time with the "not Conservative enough" mantra. He was better than anyone else with a chance to get elected.

Rooty is a LIBERAL. Most of his record is a lie. Why would any of us want to support a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-tax, gun grabbing coward for president?

he is a man of his city....he is no coward....all the things your spoke of except the coward are true. I grew up there too...I got out at 15 years of age and learned there was something out there beside crawling into a subway to go to work and coming home....it is a liberal city but Rudy was tough on crime...tough on his own Paisanos in the Cosa Nostra, and tough on terror.....(he stood up to a mob who would have loved to take him out)

he is absolutely wrong for President or Vice president.

BUT

he would be a 99% improvement over either Giulibrand or putzhead schumer for Senator from NY and head and shoulders over David Paterson for Governor....

Damn. I like Rudy. He isn’t my choice for Prez, but he’d be a good fiscal conservative/law and order guy.

I see a Palin/Guiliani ticket in the making. Most here will hate it, but it can win. They both think outside the box and care about this country. And she said she will work with anyone that shares her priorities.

Won't happen. Rudy has a pro abort problem.

“You may find a bit of resistance to this viewpoint on Free Republic.”

Doesn’t make my point less true. These are different times and we can’t afford to be so finicky. Rudy polled 5 or 6 pts nationally ahead of Obama or Hillary. He beat them in blue states like NJ and CT and in purple states like OH and PA. But last time around we apparently wanted a pastor, not a man smart enough and tough enough for the presidency. Rudy’s certainly tough enough and plenty smart. As US Attorney Rudy sent the heads of the five Mafia families to prison; he sent billionaires from Wall Street to prison; he sent corrupt liberal machine politicians to prison. He gets things done, he’s effective, he doesn’t just talk. This is no time for us to behave like a starving man rejecting a meal because it’s too salty. This is about life and death, about freedom. All the rest can wait. Winning elections and winning them big is what’s most important this time around.

>>>>>It’s true he’s not pure enough for some—for the social conservatives ...

What a load of hooey! You're on the wrong forum pushing that crap, newbie. FRee Republic is a social and fiscal conservative website --- pro-God, pro-life, pro-family.

Reagan didn't hire Giuliani, Ed Meese did. Rooty repaid Meese by calling him "a sleaze" and unqualified to be USAG. And Ted Olsen lost a lot credibility around here when he came out for Rooty.

>>>>>He’s a strong fiscal and law-and-order and pro-military conservative.

Rooty is a big government liberal, aka. a Rockefeller Republican. Crime came down under Mayor Bloomberg too and Joe Lieberman is strong on national defense. Neither Bloomberg or Lieberman are conservatives and neither is Giuliani.

>>>>>[Giuliani's] sympathies did not lie with pro-abortionists. Under his administration he was proactive in lowering the abortion rate and increasing the rate of adoptions—and did so dramatically.

LMAO!

"Thank you very much for inviting me to say a few words of welcome. This event shows that people of different political parties and different political thinking can unite in support of choice. In doing so, we are upholding a distinguished tradition that began in our city starting with the work of Margaret Sanger and the movement for reproductive freedom that began in the early decades of the 20th century."

Mayor Giuliani, N.A.R.A.L. "Champions of Choice" Lunch, The Yale Club, Thursday, April 5th, 2001

Archives of Rudolph W. Giuliani, 107th Mayor of NYC

NYC was the abortion capital of America before Giuliani was Mayor and it remained so after he left office.

Rudy is pro-gun, pro-gay, pro-illegal immigrant (you can look all of this up quite easily) and is an obnoxious control freak to boot. He is NOT well versed in Anglo-American Constitutional Conservatism, and is instead a EuroStatist Rightist. No thanks to Mayor Giussolini, the man who makes even Mike Bloomberg look appealing.

Why ANYONE on a conservative or libertarian sight would give this greasy has-been attention is beyond me.

Rooty was too much of a chickensh!+ to run against Hillary in his HOME STATE.

Rick Lazio is a retard. Rudy not running is devastating, and guarantees a Democrat keeper. He would have added an easy +1 for our Senate hopes. Dammit.

I know who he is. He's electable. Look who is in the White House if you don't believe me.

Why would liberals in New York vote for a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-illegal immigrant, gun grabbing leftist with an “R” after his name when they can get the exact same thing in a Democrat?

“I agree. The one truly admirable thing about Rudy is you’ll never see him holding hands with (Dubya) or bowing to (Zero) those Saudi sons of bit***s.”

- Indeed. I liked how he told the Saudis to get stuffed and gave back their prized 10 million check as well! I wouldn’t vote for him as Prez but I could see him as an effective Homeland Security director.

My own take is Rudy has too much dirty laundry of a sexual kind to get elected to anything again. I think that’s why he pooped out early in the Presidential races

I have no details...just what I have read here and there. He just has stuff he does not want to see in public. Maybe threats from his ex Donna Hanover
