Guiliani will NOT run for Senate this year. Like him or not, he was best chance for a MORE CONSERVATIVE candidate.
Don't waste time with the "not Conservative enough" mantra. He was better than anyone else with a chance to get elected.
Rudy has lots of skeletons that would be dragged out of the closet if he were to run. His former police chief is either in prison or going, and the scrutiny Rudy would get would put him there, too!
Hmm..so he doesnt want to be the governor, now he doesnt want to be a senator. So what does he want to be? President?
He is probably as good as anyone else..even tho he pooped out last time.

I’ve seen him dressed in drag, so maybe Rudy wants to be a girl.
Much as I despise that worthless scumbag, He probably was the best GOP candidate for US senate from NY. I hope he isn’t sitting out so that he can run for Pres..
Theres something dirty on him and the wrong people have it, I bet.
That’s a given.
LOL so did I. True..maybe thats what he wants to be.
It pales in comparison to hanging with a pentagon bomber, to having a minister that did back flips over 911 to a Pres who would appoint a Cuban Spy as Ambassador..the list goes on...
They’ve got nothing on him. Don’t you think if they had, it would have come out by now? The NYTimes despises him. He’s got as many enemies on the left and in the media as Palin has. And I hope he DOES run for president. If anyone can turn this country around, he can. He’s got a record to prove it, not a lot of glib talk—which is what most pols are all about. He took the most liberal city in America and made it fiscally conservative. He fired bureaucrats, reorganized agencies, lowered taxes, sold off municipally-owned properties, and rejected race contract preferences. If that wasn’t enough, he radically reduced the crime rate, fought the media, and reacted with nerves of steel and compassion during 9/11. I personally could care less about his messy private life. We don’t need a president to give us marriage counseling, we need somebody to fight our domestic and foreign enemies and to put our fiscal house in order—including fully rescinding the health care bill if it passes. Rudy is tough enough and smart enough to get the job done. I also like Sarah—but I’m not sure she’s up to it.
I actually prefer Giulliani as Governor than Senator for 2 reasons :
1) He is a great executive and knows how to get things done ( even with a hostile Democratic legislature).
2) He is a social liberal. I don’t want him messing around voting and writing legislation in issues that affect the entire country.
Having said that, I am now resigned to the fact that the next NY State governor will be another liberal Democrat (what else is new?) in the person of Andrew Cuomo.
booooooooooooo
Maybe he’s just waiting for people to beg him to run.
Hey Rudy. Pleeeeeeeeeeeease run!
You may find a bit of resistance to this viewpoint on Free Republic.
Ah your claiming dirt on Rudy is nonsense. He tore into the city political hacks, the mob, the unions and all the folks with their hands out in NYC. If they had anything they would’ve used it.
I’d take your bet and I’ll collect.
He probably doesn’t want to move into a legislative role this late in his career.
He’s in his mid 60’s and it’s executive or nothing I’d guess.
The police chief story was a lot of hot air. All Rudy was implicated in was bad judgment for hiring him—and even there it was a bum rap. The guy had done a great job as Corrections commissioner. Rudy hired him on that basis—and the guy turned dishonest and took bribes. Rudy was not implicated in any of that. Same thing happened to Reagan when he was governor of CA—one or two of his guys got caught up in some scandals and his political enemies tried to suggest some connections.
Don’t compare anyone to Obama unless that person is a Marxist. I don’t think Guiliani (or Romney) are Marxists.
“Rudy has lots of skeletons that would be dragged out of the closet if he were to run. His former police chief is either in prison or going, and the scrutiny Rudy would get would put him there, too!”
Get Penn & Teller on the phone. I call BS. Make sure you hear that from Seattle.
Rick Lousy-o is the wrong man to take on Gillibrand. Rudy would have been decent but he’s not stupid enough to join that bunch of losers in the Senate. Schumer/Franken/
Boxer/Feinstein/Dodd/Harkin/Reid etc. Pond scum all
You are absolutely right. We need someone that will defend us against terror and balance the stinking books. Anything else is gravy. Skewed priorities got us into this mess.
I see a Palin/Guiliani ticket in the making. Most here will hate it, but it can win. They both think outside the box and care about this country. And she said she will work with anyone that shares her priorities.
RG is a ruthless SOB who hates anti-American commies with a passion.
Hope he runs for something!
How about...HELL NO.
