I would be surprised and a little disappointed if the pre-nup doesn’t limit who gets what. Tiger was very well off before they married and I am sure his attorney saw to it that those interests were protected.
And despite what others have commented on, Elin did not “earn” any of the money Tiger made. She does not play golf, she does not appear in any endorsements. She is entitled to some, but not half and certainly not most no matter how wronged she was.
This from a man who was on the other side - the court didn’t give a crap how much screwing around there was. They look at a chart, come up with a figure and away they go. I paid right around $2100 per month for 24 months in spousal support so that she could continue sleeping around in the style she was accustomed to.
So it matters not what someone did, just what the tables and graphs show is equitable.
The catch is that Elin knows a LOT. Much, much more than has already hit the media, especially about the drugs/steroids. She’s in a position to take 20% now and make sure his future earning capacity goes to basically zero. Or she could agree to keep quiet in exchange for a lot more than 20% of his current assets. The later may be cheaper for him in the long run, and his attorneys will be pointing this out to him.
Well..this is California.
screw all these greedy women and the liberal court system...
I hear ya. On the other side here too. I am paying just about that as well so she can maintain her “lifestyle”. Dont mind paying for my kids, thats just the right thing to do. But alimoney is BS. Bitter here. Divorce sux after 17 years of marriage.
