In case anyone missed this historic event, but a couple of weeks ago Obama met with another rival meerkat leader. I think the president gave him an iPod. Ah, diplomacy!
Leader of Kalahari Meerkats to Meet with President Obama
iReport An unprecedented event will take place on December 9, 2009. On that date, Zaphod Whiskers, the oldest living meerkat in the Kalahari and distinguished leader of the Kalahari meerkats, will meet with President Obama at the White House. Zaphod, erstwhile loyal companion of the famous Flower of the Kalahari, will be celebrating his 11th birthday on that day. The purpose of Zaphods visit appears to be to discuss proposing an Act of Congress that would require TV stations to carry future episodes of Meerkat Manor. On December 9, photos of this historic event will be posted on this site from the White House as it happens. Unfortunately, for security reasons we are not able to video the event, however, we will make every effort to keep you posted with commentary and photos.
As of this posting, we are not sure of all of the topics to be covered other than the one mentioned above. However, we will be vigilant in seeking further information and will make this information available as quickly as possible. It is rumored that Mabelline, Zaphods partner after the death of his beloved Flower, may accompany him in order to meet with the First Lady.
