Josh Cribbs of the Cleveland Browns has returned two kickoffs for touchdowns against Kansas City, breaking and then extending the NFL career record.
After his 100-yard return in the first quarter broke the league record, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound veteran sped 103 yards in the second quarter.
His first return of the day was the seventh of his five-year career and broke the record he had shared with five others.
On that one, he broke free from at least six players who got their hand on him. In his second, he took the ball 3 yards deep in the end zone, cut left, then right and was hardly touched. The 103-yard return was a yard short of the Browns record. Cleveland's 269 yards in returns were a team record.
Cribbs came into the season with five touchdown returns of kickoffs and had a 98-yard return against Pittsburgh on Oct. 18.
Cribbs had been tied with Dante Hall, Gale Sayers, Mel Gray, Travis Williams and Ollie Matson.
The two returns in a game tied the league record.

The Colts are OK but they should have stayed in Baltimore instead of running like wusses in the middle of the night.
I hope the Bengals can stay in front of the Ravens.
That’s not what I asked you.
Eric was exciting but he didn’t seem to run forward too often.
I remember some awesome returns by him.
Cribbs is a great all around athlete.
If only we had an offense. :(
Well, 3 TDs and 260+ yards from Jerome Harrison isn’t too shabby either!!! Quinn has to grow up and get in the game.
So I just saw.
Lot of running today.
I knew it wasnt Brady Quinn making things work LoL
I guess if Romo can manage to develop Quinn can as well, but I’m not going to count on it
We’ll see - I wish they had been playing Quinn all season since we weren’t planning on going anywhere anyhow.
So why would your priest do that???
He does need time on the field, and a better offensive line.
It’s tough being a Browns fan LoL
Cribbs is a totally cool guy. He also threw an accurate 52 yard pass that should have been a touchdown, but for an excellent defensive play.
A regular hometown guy!
He also proved that Bill Bellycheck's theory of sending a 160 pound scatback into the interior line is not a good offensive tactic in the National Football League.
Cincinnati just lost here in San Diego.
Chargers hit a 52 yd field goal with 2 sec
OUR Chargers won another!
I’m going to post on Phillip’s wall now.
:)
Raiders Win!
Rivers is a real leader.
Oh yes, for sure.
Phillip Rivers is the best.
I wouldn’t trade him for ANY other quarterback.
I grew up on the Brownies.
Have supported them ever since I saw the Packers-Brownies games in the snow of long ago, sitting in front of a tiny TV tube with my dad & brother.
That was football.
