My 2nd grade son just figured out that Santa was impossible. Not enough time to visit all kids in one day. My wife wanted to extend the Santa myth for as long as possible, I didn't, but she's the mom, so she wins that one.

We have told him, and our 1st grade son, to keep the information to themselves, and that we still pretend Santa exists, because its fun.

Sixth grade? Kids are starting to have sex, its time to tell them the truth about Santa... (hah!)

LOL
My daughter was in 2nd grade when she said with a knowing smile, Mom, Santa uses the same wrapping paper as you did for Grandma's gift. ooops ;) I just gave her the knowing smile back and that was the end of Santa. I do think she knew all along. Smart girl. ;)

Hi Lady Jag :)
Wishing you a lovely Sunday!

What a snow storm. It's still snowing. Was out earlier, I'm thinking 2 feet with drifts up to my waist or more. I will post you a photo or 2 later.

How is it your way? Looking at the weather map, thinking you must be getting what we had last night, right now. Stay cozy and warm inside! Enjoy your day!

I have never understood the Santa Claus thing. My parent’s didn’t lie to me. I guess this is just one of those little white lies and it isn’t really a lie.

I don’t understand why parents bust their rear ends working to buy their kids gifts and then claim a fairy tale creature was responsible.

WHAT? There isn’t a REAL SANTA?? Teachers shouldn’t even be talking about whether or not there is a Santa! They should be TEACHING! There are very few good teachers like I had when I went to school almost 40 years ago!

Fact- Santa isn’t real. It is a teacher’s job to teach facts. These are sixth graders. The parent should be thanking the teacher and the parent should get over themselves.

If your kid still believes in Santa in 6th grade he has more problems than the teacher.

Isn't that the truth. Life will be a trauma for that kid.

If Santa took toys from the rich children and redistributed them to the deserving, she’d believe in him.

Isn't it gorgeous! Hi GEEBEE!!!

Weatherman says we got 15" and I'll take his word for it because the way the wind blew it, I can't find a flat spot!

Still warm & cozy, I figure we should be able to keep our electricity because the snow is too dry to stick to trees and break branches.

Other than enjoying walking the pup, stay warm and cozy yourself.

You should start a counterpunch story circulating among the students.

Tell them that “free” education is a lie and it’s nothing more than union thug daycare.

They’ll all wind up stupid and working at McDonalds for the rest of their lives.

It’s Mrs. Claus who should be getting upset. Santa comes but once a year.

6th grade? Heck I knew about the birds and the bees when I was in 3rd grade. Grownup recipients of government programs know there is a Santa Claus. It’s the American Taxpayer (Sucker).

6th grade is awfully old for this, is all I'm saying.

By the 6th grade, I had already had two years of sex education and at least one year of the DARE drug abuse program. Not to mention more than enough science lessons to blow away belief in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, etc. Most kids have entered puberty by that point.

It would take an awfully sheltered child in today's world to reach the age of 11 and still believe in a magic elf from the north pole.

I just said “Well we'll see if he brings any presents or not.”

My mom said something similar - and it was the reason I didn't let on for a couple more years that I no longer believed. I know in my case I just didn't want to let my mom down!
