My wife was listening to Glenn Beck’s radio program, this morning. She informs me that Glenn Beck says that the White House called his “red phone” yesterday at the end of his FOX News TV show.
Evidently, the White House was upset that Glenn Beck interviewed Michael Goldfarb, author of the Offutt AFB closure threat report. In the interview, Goldfarb stood by his report. Glenn Beck, prefacing the story as a rumor, also stated that he confirmed this story with three sources. But, the White House vociferously denies the story.
Here’s what Beck said:
“During the break, um, our White House uh uh one of our White House guys um sent a response from the White House on what we were just talking about, uh wait, I don’t have time to share it with you tonight I will tomorrow. It’s outrageous ...”

Do you have ANY idea what Beck does for a living?
I don’t care what time magazine says. Beck is definitely the man of the year. If we are able to hold back the socialist tide till the 2010 election and if we manage to actually have an honest election ever again Beck and his exposure of Acorn, Van Jones, SEIU and the other Commies and thugs in the current admisinstration will be the reason. Keep shining the light on the cockroaches Glenn.
May have misheard what Beck said. If I recall correctly, Beck stated it was one of Fox White House reporters was on the phone. When I heard that, I immediately thought Major Garrett. I don’t think it was the Obama people.
Look, I’m not a Beck sycophant, I think he can be hyperbolic bordering on silly sometimes.
The WH probably did threaten, but quickly found out what an empty threat that was.

I meant “minor” as in Obama is destroying America and this is just one little step along the way.
BTW - I was stationed at Offutt AFB for four years in the early 1980’s. I worked on the communications equipment for the Airborne Command Post. You know, stuff like the two-turn-key equipment that sends the launch codes to the missile silos to launch atomic bombs, etc. So, yes. I am fully aware of the importance of Offutt AFB. But, again, the closing of Offutt is but a minor brush stroke in Obama’s overall painting of the destruction of America.
You don’t think anything Beck says has truth in it?
It’s kind of interesting that whenever anyone comments on here to malign Beck, they bring up some other conservative talking head. Levin, Rush...etc.
Why does it have to be a competition? “You can trust X...but not Y?”
Beck’s sensational...but to say he doesn’t tell the truth is simply bickerish.
I think it’s ok to appreciate ALL the conservative talking heads. Why bash when you could encourage?
Hey guy, you can kneel the the altar of Beck and take everything he says as gospel truth all you like, but I’m just telling you, he didn’t talk to “the White House”. I’m willing to bet that red phone couldn’t order you a Papa John’s special, much less get a call from the White House. It’s an ACT! Come on, wake up brother!

While he has made a few goofs (honest mistakes, I believe), he documents and sources his information quite well. I'm curious why you think he's a liar.

Use each, to the fullest extent, as a weapon against the socialists. Its kinda stupid to consider throwing away a weapon because one of the other weapons is “better” under certain conditions.
At the end of the show last evening, he had his crackberry in hand and said his White House contact had just sent him a message. He said it was “amazing” if I remember correctly.
