People go to Sea World, see these animals dancing with people, doing tricks, and appearing to smile ... and they come away with the impression that these 8-meter-long, 6-ton predators are docile and peaceful creatures. They’re not called “Killer” whales for nothing — they can do quite a lot of damage when they lay into a 200 lb. sea lion and throw it like a ragdoll.
People seem to have the same misconceptions about other “docile” looking animals. Hippos are vicious. Chimps are strong as hell. People, especially these “mother earth”-types, need to wise up ... nature is not a peaceful place.

YouTube should do much to change perceptions.
Yep...they'll chase a sea lion on to shore. It's been filmed any number of times...
My parents were visitng Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Their car was stopped by a few wild buffalo in the road. Apparently, the buffalo roam all over the place out there. No idea if the deer and the antelopes play, but I digress.
Anyhoo, there was a mother buffalo, with twin calves. Beautiful scenery, until.... The idiot parents in the car behind Mom and Dad sent their little kids out to pose next to the calves, so they could be videotaped.
Dad managed to get the kids back to safety just in time before they were trampled to death. Said that he didn't even get a "Thank you" from the aforementioned idiot tourists.
People are really, really stupid.
“hippos are vicious.”
I was under the impression that they wore tutu’s and danced in a circle like they did in Walt Disney’s “Fantasia.”
