Paging Nick Lowe!
Marie Provost did not look her best
The day the cops bust into her lonely nest
in the cheap hotel up on Hollywood west
July 29
She'd been lyin' there for two or three weeks
The neighbors said they never heard a squeak
While hungry eyes that could not speak
said even little doggies have got to eat
chorus:
She was a winner that became a doggie's dinner
She never meant that much to me
Whoa oh poor Marie
Marie Provost was a movie queen
mysterious angel of the silent screen
And run like the wind the nation's young men steamed
When Marie crossed the silent screen
Whoa she came out west from New York
but when the talkies came Marie just couldn't cope
The public said Marie take a walk
All the way back to New York
-repeat chorus-
Those quaalude bombs didn't help her sleep
As her nights grew long and her days grew bleak
It's all downhill once you've passed your peak
Marie got ready for that last big sleep
The cops came in and they looked around
Throwin' up everywhere over what they found
The handiwork of Marie's little dachshund
That hungry little dachshund
-repeat chorus-
poor Marie

Got a chuckle out of this....I have told my kids if they ever find me dead and partially eaten, remember my dogs have to eat too...

My mother in law had pugs. They used to life their legs every time she brought them over to our house. One evening we had a large dinner party, and one of the pugs went under the dining room table in the middle of dinner . . . and pooped.

Good one. I remember that song. I think I have it on a Rhino records compilation somewhere.

its not like they had a lot of food options. Faced with the decision of starvation, or eating their Master
Not unlike politicians.

We have always had pugs, right now we have 2, a male and a female.
They are great pets. our boy pug ( the one we raised) rings the bell to go out ...he would not go under your table...now the female we adopted as an adult.. so no guarantees there :)

Poor dogs ... its not like they had a lot of food options. Faced with the decision of starvation, or eating their Master .... poor animals. Cats on the other hand have no masters or moral qualms.
Do you think they drop dead mice on your doorstep as a present? No! It's their version of a horse's head in your bed.

The previous owner of my first house was eaten by his mutt the same afternoon he died. Well, just his face really. His daughter found him. What a horror!
