Now 45 years old and revamped for 2010 with new styling and more powerful V-8, the "pony car" that debuted in 1964 is strikingly muscular, more energetic than before and thoroughly cool for a modern buyer.
You dont even have to pretend to be Steve McQueen, the lead actor in the 1968 film "Bullitt" who famously drove a Mustang in one of Hollywoods best chase scenes, to enjoy the new Mustangs unique persona.

Thanks for the information.
Great post! I love those beautiful vintage cars.
[Great Ford pix (Canada) potlatch!]
Some of the prettiest I’ve seen. Love that zigzag down the sides and two different colors. Didn’t know so many had the continental tire thing on the back like my ‘57 Lincoln!
I sent you that url over a week ago!!
.
I know - I saw it last week
The Canadian Meteor has the more jazzy zig-zag for a tri-color paint job if desired
That Canadian couple sticks with convertibles with the extended bumper factory Continental Kit option
It's now 10 years young with a mere 175,000 miles on it, still purrs like a kitten.
LOL, I also bought a MINI Cooper in August to take the place of the Cougar when it finally gives out.
Mustang was ok at best.
I always assumed that the Continental Kit was only on Lincoln Continentals. Their cars even seem to have fancier fronts and rear bumper adornments.
.
The Canadian Meteor and Mercury have more ornate grill designs
They have a Canadian Mercury PU too
- Looked like they added some “bolt-on” after-market bumper guards (curved chromed heavy-walled tubing) - not factory - too
[have fancier fronts and rear bumper adornments.]
[have more ornate grill designs]
Funny, I think of a Mercury as a “Mercury”, and would never think of different countries designing them differently.
.
I recall that Canada made a 6-cylinder Pontiac station wagon - an engine not offered in the US
Names may have been French to - It was back a few years for me
.
Ford-Mecury-Edsel-Lincoln-Continental all (mostly) used common engines with brand ID stamped valve covers - as did the 50’s on Plymouth-Dodge-DeSoto-Chrysler-Imperial
General Motors went the indivdual brand engine route (mostly) - even for some 6 and 4 cylinder engines
Now GM is using (and did on some Pony Cars) using Chevy engines or Chevy-based engines in other lines/brands
Chevy
Pontiac
Olds
Buick
Caddy
That was an expensive management decision
All produced some great engines - or not
But GM put itself at a financial and engineering disadvantage by choosing to manufacture engines for each brand
Some Firebirds had Olds engines instead of Pontiacs
The old ‘55 Chevy V8 evolved to the Chevy Corvette engines - of today - over time
You make stupid decisions -
Present Obama fires your President - takes over your company
Makes sure new Buick TV ads are homo-friendly - and now the new Chevy VOLT TV ads have dancers-singers in the bi-sexual theme
Make you want to buy a GN car now - Right?
Michelle LaVaugh *Robinson(check the WTC sub-contactor work just prior to 9-11) Obama is picking the TV ad agendas at GM
Bailout-Bound while Ford makes big profits as a private corporation

WTC - NYC, NY
Interesting post devolve, confusing to me as all I did was mention pretty cars and I haven’t followed all “these connections”. Maybe someone further upthread mentioned this.
[The Oddities of Plumbers and Land Deals ] !! ?
For a second I thought Calpernia was back.
Lol, that link’s not even in the first 4 pages of Google search.
.
GOOGLE scrubbed most of the blog and news pages of the Robinson/Sept 2001 connection
Michelle’s brother - and certain things that did not work on 9-11
Magick Plumbing didn’t even turn up on a search here either!!
Lol, you were off on another tangent
I just didn’t get it I guess
.
Neat potlatch
I will never keep up with your PC and broadband on pings
Way behind
Just saw this post, potlatch. lol.
Haven’t read the thread, so no idea at all what it means; but, it brings to mind that crude reference to what some people seem to have “fer brains”. lol.
Don’t know if it applies to POTUS; but, could be applicable to anyone who buys what he’s peddlin’.
